Waves API 550A/B - Classic Equalizers Plug-In (TDM)

The API 550A/B TDM from Waves comes with plug-in models of two classic API equalization modules.

The API 550A plug-in is modeled on the late 60's legendary hardware. The software provides reciprocal equalization at fifteen points, in five steps of boost, divided into three overlapping ranges. A band-pass filter can be inserted independently of all other settings.

The API 550B features four overlapped EQ bands. It features 7 switchable filter frequencies spanning up to 5 octaves per band. It even lets you undo previous processing, affect, or even reverse tonal modifications.

Together, the API 550A/B equalizers add a wide array of classic tonal options to your production toolbox.

Main Features
"Proportional Q"
The filter bandwidth automatically widens at minimal settings and narrows it at higher settings
12 dB of boost/cut per band
High headroom +30 dB clip level
Reciprocal and repeatable filtering
Universal support up to 24-bit/96 kHz;
supports 192kHz resolution on TDM 24/96 only
Mono and Stereo components

Waves API 2500 - Stereo Compressor Plug-In (TDM)

The API 2500 TDM from Waves is a dynamics plug-in that features the classic punch of API hardware, while allowing for shaping the tone of mixes with absolute accuracy. Its dual channel design lets it function as two separate mono channels via a single compression setting.

Its auto-makeup gain function provides the ability to adjust threshold or ratio while automatically maintaining a constant output level. With a choice of an old style "feed back", or the new style "feed forward" compression types, the software delivers a wide range of very musical parameters, making it a favorite of engineers everywhere.

Main Features
Switchable three-position Thrust high-pass filter
Variable-link left and right channels
Three variable-link filter types
Three compression modes - soft, medium, and hard knee
Six release settings - five fixed, one continuous
Up to 24-bit/96 kHz resolution
Mono and stereo components
