The Samyang 24mm f/1.4 ED AS UMC Wide-Angle Lens for Nikon gives you a wide 84° view when used with a full-frame 35mm camera, 57.6° when used with an APS-C camera or 47.6º with Four-Thirds cameras. Samyang 24mm f/1.4 reviews

24mm f/1.4 ED AS UMC Wide-Angle Lens for Nikon is rated 4.4 out of 5 by 9.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great Lens, Great Price Bought this lens for a Nikon body and the performance of the lens has been stellar. I'm big into low light photography and am always looking at lenses that offer the best f stop range, so when I saw that this was an f/1.4 I knew I had to check it out. It works great. It doesn't have auto focusing, which I sometimes rely on when in aperture mode, but that's not the worst thing as it teaches a thing or two of how to better get used to manual focuses and add some creative touch to your photography. Samyand lenses are QUALITY lenses. Definitely worth the purchase and am very happy with it so far

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great Optics, Moderate Build Quality I would still buy this lens again, even with my experience with it. After 2 months, part of the lens loosened to the point, that it now rotates freely, and there are no longer reliable focus marking ( as that ring now spins free ) It only makes mounting the lens harder, and I cant use infinity focus anymore ( as it spins ) That said, the lens feels super solid, heavy, sturdy etc. The optics are fantastic. I could not give up my loved 24mm 1.4 - such a cinematic focal length / apeture. I shoot wide open with great results.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Incredible lens for the money I have the lens a little over a year now. So I can give a fairly accurate review. I have used theis lens on my Canon with adapter, a Nikon D600, Red One MX and an Epic. If you use this lens with an APS-C sensor like all of the above with the exception of the D600. It is sharp corner to corner. Dome light fall off until but completely gone by F/4 at F/5.6 this lens is sharp and amazing. I used it the Red One MX on an exterior shoot. shot a house at about a little over a 1/4 mile a way. When I zoomed into the final video image, I could see the individual bricks on the house and through a window I could see the curtains moving from the wind. On a Full frame it is almost as good. But a little soft on the corners. Fall off about the same. But with the Nikon D600 it fixes almost any issues. Focus ring is smooth and nice. F stops are easy to adjust by hand. Not needed if doing photography. But since I use this lens for cinematography as well it is a nice thing to know. I think if you get this lens and take care of it. 20 years from now you will still be using it. One commercial I did. I used this lens for the entire shoot and got great results. I have had heard of some bad examples out there. But that was when the lens first came out. They seem to have fixed those issues now. So buy without worries. It also has great bokeh for a wide lens and can focus as close as 25cm.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from quality control and support Got the lens in 4 months ago. good price for a fast wide angle lens. tight manual focus ring and good center sharpness when wide open. Howerver, what you get is what you paid: I found right side back focused after get lens alignment kit. I send it to Elite Brands (US importer?) to get repaired. I got a replacement lens after a week and I was very disappointed to find that the replacement lens is not new and has scratch marks on front glass.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Exceptional wide fast lens Very sharp from corner to corner when stopped down to 2.8, 1.4-2.8 is still very sharp but hey, it's a very narrow DOF so what do you expect! Possibly THE best lens for astrophotography, no coma in the corners and CA (chromatic aberration) is very well controlled. Recommend it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The wait is over! After working with (and loving) both Rokinon and Samyang lenses in the past (previously with the 85 1.4 & 35 1.4), I am happy to give the 24 1.4 a go on full-frame Nikon. While I have not yet run it through a full barrage of tests, preliminary results are fantastic. The reviews on external websites are on point - a little soft wide open (but I will hazard useable for my purposes) with nice edge to edge sharpness. Sufficiently sharp by F2.8. Nice out of focus rendering (something I very much appreciated with the 85 1.4). For sharpness, I've tested against a my 50mm 1.8g from Nikon (matched field of view) on a lens test chart and found the lens on par wide open (which surprised me). Very pleased with B&H's delivery.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great lens for affordable price Wide angle is a must have product for any photographer. Any scenes, city photos, night sky (this lens has very low coma, which is is excellent for astro photography). Smooth bokeh is good for macro photo. The only one drawback is absence of auto-focus. However, for 24mm FF focus is like 1 ft, 2 ft, infinity, so it is only needed for macro. It is not blade sharp as Nikon 24mm /Sigma Art 24mm, but it is sharp from corner to corner, which is also very important.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Second lens a winner The first lens had a soft focus, I couldn't get a good, sharp focus no matter what I did. Almost good enough to keep, but not as good as I expected from the reviews. B&H exchanged the lens even though I was a few days over the 30-day period - kudos to B&H once again. I bought the lens for astrophotography, but haven't had a chance yet to use it in that manner. I did shoot quite a few images to assess the image quality, due to the many reviews I read about lemons in the product stream. Test it if you buy it, and exchange it if it doesn't look good. Near as I can tell, and it was reinforced by inquiry, there's no discernible difference between this Samyang and the Rokinon except name and price. Lastly, since the lens for Nikon has a chip, you get good EXIF data, LR will recognize and use a lens profile once you tell LR the lens brand, and the camera's in-focus indicator works (at least it does on my D800E). Lens profiles are in ARC, but can be downloaded from Samyang's site too.
