Waves Center - Spacial Imagery Adjustment Plug-In (TDM)

Center from Waves is a plug-in ideal for tuning final mixes and mastering. An innovative processor, the plug-in allows for separating the phantom Center content from the Side (L/R) content in stereo sources to bring out or bring down the vocals, or whatever occupies the center space, without affecting everything else. Using an engine which considers the amplitude, frequency and time envelope of stereo sources, Center delivers the power to radically re-balance the spatial imagery.

It is also possible to widen or narrow the Side content without disturbing the Center. Additionally, punch, high frequency and low frequency controls provide adjustments for enhancing those details for maximum impact. Perfect for post-production engineers and DJs as well, the software allows for repositioning, isolating, and even eliminating elements of the mix.

This version is for use with Avid's Pro Tools HD systems.

Waves CLA-76 Blacky & Bluey - Compressor/Limiter Plug-In (TDM)

The CLA-76 Blacky & Bluey (TDM) from Waves is a plug-in that features models of the famed mid-60's Class A line level limiting amplifier. A favorite studio tool, the original hardware had a superfast attack (as quick as 50 microseconds) that is reproduced in the software model. The plug-in can be used on numerous sources, but really shines when processing drums.

Also featured in the plug-in is the unconventional "All Ratio Buttons In" setting that provided the trademark overdriven tone of the original, along with modeled pre-amp distortion. The original hardware underwent numerous revisions after it was first introduced with a blue strip on a silver faceplate. The black face version added low-noise circuits on additional circuit boards and reduced distortion. Both versions are represented here.

Waves L3 Multimaximizer - Multi-Band Limiter Plug-In (TDM)

The L3 Multimaximizer TDM from Waves, is a plug-in that performs multi-band peak limiting and comes in two versions, the Multimaximizer and Ultramaximizer. Both plug-ins utilize a patent-pending "Peak Limiting Mixer" (PLMixer) engine, the only difference being that less control is provided on the Ultramaximizer.

Unlike most wide band limiters, the L3 uses linear phase crossover filters to divide the audio spectrum into five bands. The PLMixer then uses psychoacoustic criteria to intelligently decide how much attenuation to apply to each band so that all available headroom is used.

The result is that inter-modulation is minimized and overall loudness is maximized, while brick-wall limiting is still maintained - all while retaining the simplicity of a single master threshold control. With its transparent operation, brick-wall limiting, extreme tonal range and dithering and noise shaping control, the L3 can function as a complete mastering processor.

Main Features
The PLMixer doesn't require a wide band peak limiter to catch overshoots generated by individual band adjustments. Instead, the mixer automatically controls the gain relationship between the bands.
A Priority control allows the user to control the relative limiting of each band. This unique control lets users adjust the tonal character of the L3 over a wide range, while maintaining brick-wall limiting.
The L3 allows a 12 dB boost or cut in each band in addition to the limiting applied to each band. In effect, this feature functions exactly like a Linear Phase EQ placed before the limiting section of the L3, making the L3 an all-in-one final mastering tool.
Features a linear phase crossover which doesn't introduce phase distortion between the frequency bands. The crossover points are selectable by the user.
While the technology of the PLMixer allows the L3 to be transparent, additional controls allow it to emulate the color and character of vintage limiters. The Separation control adjusts the independence of each band - when set to 0, the bands do not react separately, and so the L3 functions and sounds like a wide band limiter.
The Master Release alters the L3's Adaptive Release Control (ARC,) offering a Warm, Scaled, Aggressive and Manual tonal options in addition to the standard ARC setting.
IDR (Increased Digital Resolution) with double precision bit re-quantization and dither with 9th-order noise shaping filter.
Also includes the L3 Ultramaximizer.
Up to 24-bit / 96kHz resolution.
Mono and Stereo components.

Waves MaxxBass - Bass Enhancement Plug-In (TDM)

MaxxBass (TDM) from Waves is a plug-in for enhancing the perceived loudness of the bass content in an audio source. The software uses psycho-acoustics to calculate precise harmonics that are related to the fundamental tones of sound. When these harmonics are combined with the original signal, it creates the effect of lower, deeper frequencies that is apparent on virtually any speaker.

The plug-in also allows smaller speakers to appear to deliver a stronger and lower bass signal without damaging the smaller cones inside the speakers. The technology has been used to enhance the bass on many hit records, and in major motion pictures to deliver earth shattering effects.

Waves Vocal Rider - Automatic Level-Riding Plug-In (TDM)

Vocal Rider TDM from Waves automatically rides the levels of vocal tracks during mixdown. Vocal Rider relieves the engineer from having to manually ride a physical mixing console fader, or from drawing in each individual level change on a DAW track.

All the engineer has to do is the target range of the vocal level in relation to the rest of the mix. Then, Vocal Rider compensates for all deviations from the target, intelligently raising or lowering the vocal volume, instantly. And unlike everyday compression, Vocal Rider adds absolutely no additional coloring to the track.

The Vocal Rider Live component includes an exclusive Spill control to differentiate the vocal from background instrumentation and noise, for better tracking and performance.

    Main Features
Automatically keeps vocal and dialog levels steady

Waves Kramer Master Tape - Modeled Vintage Reel-to-Reel Machine Plug-In (TDM)

Kramer Master Tape from Waves is a plug-in that models the audio characteristics of a vintage 1/4" reel to reel tape machine. The plug-in provides the usual controls found on tape machines, such as adjustable tape speed, bias, and flux, in addition to control over things that were at one time considered faults, like wow & flutter and noise. These are now considered desirable characteristics that can add an organic feel to otherwise lifeless digital audio.

Furthermore, the plug-in also includes what was once an unintended consequence of using tape, namely a flexible slap and feedback delay, ideal for rock, dance, dub, or any other audio application. For recording, mixing, mastering, and more, the plug-in delivers the richness and warmth of real tape saturation to a Pro Tools HD workstation.

Waves HLS Channel - Helios Console Modeled Channel (TDM)

The HLS Channel TDM from Waves models a Helios mixing console just like the one used in historic sessions at London's acclaimed Olympic Studios.

HLS Channel was developed in association with producer/engineer Eddie Kramer, one of the premier engineers at Olympic Studios during that classic period of rock n' roll. Waves modeled the unique behavior, coloration, and drive of the Helios console's preamps. The equalizers were modeled for their sweet saturation, high-end presence, and fat low-frequency boost. The HLS Channel also features a precision-modeled VU meter that recreates the sensitivity, ballistic behavior, look, and feel of the original.

    Main Features
    Authentic Modeling
Modeled on a Helios from the Rolling Stones mobile truck, which was used on classic recordings in the early '70s.

Waves Bass Rider - Automatic Bass Leveling Plug-In (TDM)

Bass Rider (TDM) from Waves is an easy-to-use plug-in that rides bass levels automatically, delivering perfect bass levels without changing the natural sound of the instrument. Optimized especially for the frequency range and envelope characteristics of bass instruments, the plug-in functions equally well on any bass tracks, be it DI, amplified, acoustic, synthesizer, upright, etc.

With dedicated studio and live components, the plug-in is a real time saver. Unlike a compressor, the processor works note by note without disturbing their inner dynamics, so that they sustain and decay naturally. Since Bass Rider keeps the levels steady with automatic gain adjustment, the user is free to use additional compression to add color and character if required.

    Main Features
    Rides bass levels automatically
    Optimized for bass instruments
Retains the natural character of the bass
