A user-friendly design complements the range of features that make the 131 series microscope a welcome addition to classrooms. A 360° rotating monocular viewing head enables the eyepiece to be shared with multiple viewers without having to move the microscope. This configuration of the 131 has an individual focus dial for fine and coarse adjustments. The focus system also includes a slip clutch and rack stop that prevents mishandling by novice users. The 131-SPMS also features a 20W tungsten light source and a mechanical stage with low-position x-y specimen adjustment controls. National Optical engineered this compound microscope to be easy to use yet feature-rich enough to help high school students transition to more sophisticated instruments.
