The native Sound Design Suite from Waves includes 33 plug-ins collected to provide processing for sound design for film, TV, and game sound design. The plug-ins were selected in part between Waves and sound designers Scott Martin Gershin and Charles Deenen. The suite includes compression, EQ, pitch shifting, level maximization, and sub-bass plug-ins. All support RTAS, AudioSuite, AU, and VST plug-in formats on Mac and PC.

  • C4 Multiband - Dynamics Processor Plug-In (Native)

    C4 Multiband Native from Waves is a multiband dynamics processor plug-in that features four-bands of up and down expansion, limiting, and compression, along with dynamic and standard EQ.

    By combining the technologies from the Renaissance Compressor and the C1 Parametric Compander, the plug-in provides comprehensive and transparent control over the contours of a mix.

    TransX Native from Waves is a processor that modifies the shape of transients, either sharpening or softening the edges. The native based plug-in is perfect for breathing life into dull sounding drum loops, accentuating or attenuating instrumental attacks, and modifying room acoustics.

    The plug-in can also highlight sustains and can be used on individual tracks or with judicious use, on complete mixes.

The compressor's release performance is specifically modeled on the corresponding analog behavior, while a wet/dry control allows for parallel compression.

    Other features include multiple sync functions, an output limiter, and via an external side-chain, access to the compressor circuitry for additional compression control.

  • L3-16 Multimaximizer - Peak Limiter Plug-In (Native)

    The L3-16 Multimaximizer Native, from Waves, is a plug-in that performs multi-band peak limiting. The plug-in divides the audio source into sixteen variable bands and utilizes a patent-pending "Peak Limiting Mixer" (PLMixer) engine.

    Unlike most wide band limiters, the L3-16 uses linear phase crossover filters to divide the audio spectrum into the sixteen bands. The PLMixer then uses psychoacoustic criteria to intelligently decide how much attenuation to apply to each band so that all available headroom is used.

    The result is that inter-modulation is minimized and overall loudness is maximized, while brick-wall limiting is still maintained. Also included in the package are the L3 Multimaximizer and Ultramaximizer, and the low latency L3LL Multimaximizer and Ultramaximizer versions.
