Digital Juice RIG1 overview

  • 1Description

The Shoulder Mount Stabilizer from Digital Juice is a lightweight stabilizer featuring 2-point stabilization using the back and chest. It has a spring-loaded, locking pivot point, and it's easily adjustable, with high-density foam-lined shoulder and chest pads. The weight of your gear is distributed onto your back and chest, leaving your hands free. This is invaluable when working on location in large crowds, when you're in constant motion, and to prevent your handheld camera from falling, while still providing a lightweight stable shooting platform. You'll get smoother looking video and reduce muscle fatigue. A 1.5" strap is provided to clip onto the unit and across the body for further safety and stability when in use. This unit weighs less than 2 lb.

The Shoulder Mount Stabilizer includes a standard camera mount plate and two adjustable accessory base plates so that it's compatible with a wide variety of camera sizes. The larger plate extends from the unit with a rectangular rubber-padded base, while the smaller plate attaches to the larger plate and has a rubber-padded quick release base on top of a riser which raises the position of the camera by 2.5". Both accessory plates can be adjusted back and forth or angled into the optimal position using the easy-grip sliding lock-down screw knobs.

    Digital Juice RIG1 reviews

Shoulder Mount Stabilizer is rated 2.3 out of 5 by 14.
Rated 1 out of 5 by from Don't buy!!! I have had the stabilizer a couple weeks and two of the plastic nobs have cracked and fallen off. It says it supports up to 10 lbs but the strap broke with my 6 lb camera and it crashed to the ground and now I have a broken Sony EX1. Very poor materials and construction. I guess you get what you pay for.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Nice to have extra stability Using a Sony EX-3 sometimes can be difficult for long handheld shots. Using this as an attachment helps more evenly distribute the weight and make your shots more steady. The only downside is, i have not been able to make it completely work using the viewfinder without flipping it up. I can not get the camera physically close enough to my body. I have yet to see if this has any effect on focus. Also, it makes moving with the unit a little more cumbersome but thats expected.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from DO NOT BUY!!! The first time I used this the strap buckle broke and one of the plastic knobs broke off. The second time I used this, two more knobs broke off. This is very poorly made and a HUGE waste of money. Do not buy this product!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Broke in half I bought this stabilizer for my HPX250 and it worked fairly well for the two shoots I used it on. I do think that the HPX250 is a bit too much camera for this rig but I had it on, testing something a few days before a shoot, and the main piece that connects the platform for the camera to the shoulder support literally snapped in half. I would post a photo but I have since thrown it out. I think this rig is great for smaller camcorders but not ideal for larger ones like the HPX250.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Cheap Junk Digital Juice's gear always looks appealing, and it always has a great price, but it's always knock-off junk. If this rig were made of metal or carbon fiber, it might be worth buying, but it's made of cheap plastic. For starters, everything about this rig is cheap, right down to the hardware. The only application for this thing is a tiny girl with a tiny camera - like the picture shows. That's because anyone with any upper body mass can hardly fit it over their shoulder. The first time I loaded it anywhere near its touted 10 lb weight limit, the top piece snapped right in half as I tried to situate it on my shoulder. I hadn't even put a load on it yet. Take my advice and spend the money for a real shoulder mount. This is a terrible design that's poorly made.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from You get what you pay for. Saw this selling for twice the amount in Bay Area. Asked if they would match the price and they said no. Not in no hurry for this I ordered from here. B & H is great, but when time came for me to use this, the bracket broke when I was trying it out. Screw was snug tight only. When I was recording for a bit, and uncomfortable, for it's not centered for easy viewing. As I was holding the camera, the bracket snapped. It is made out of plastic. It's just the product, not B&H.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Works but uncomfortable I tested the product for about 30 minutes but found it was very uncomfortable, I'm 6' 5 and weigh 270 lbs and the brace fully opened dod not fit correctly on my should and chest. It did a good job providing support and steadings the video but would not recommend for bigger people. I returned the product.
