Meade MAX Wedge Equatorial Wedge
Key Features
  • For 16" LX600 Optical Tube
  • Convert from Alt-Az to Equatorial Mount
  • Lightweight Rigid Aluminum Construction
  • Horizon to Horizon Tracking Capability
The MAX Wedge Equatorial Wedge from Meade is specifically engineered for Meade's 16" LX600 ACF optical tube assembly. This equatorial wedge is mounted between the optical tube and the MAX Tripod to precisely align your telescope with Earth's axis. This wedge also allows uninterrupted tracking from horizon to horizon through the meridian, without the meridian flip common with most equatorial mounts.

Machined from a solid block of lightweight ultra-rigid aircraft aluminum, the MAX Wedge stands alone in the equatorial wedge market, delivering enhanced stability and mounting security while also enabling precise altitude and azimuth adjustments. Designed for use with the MAX Tripod, this wedge can also be permanently mounted to an observatory pier (hardware sold separately). The MAX Wedge is an essential accessory for using the 16" LX600 to capture tack-sharp images of deep sky objects such as galaxies and nebulae.

Compatibility
For mounting with Meade MAX Tripod supplied with the 16" aperture LX600. MAX Wedge can also be permanently mounted to an observatory pier (hardware sold separately).
Function
The wedge allows the astrophotographer to align the telescope's axis of rotation with the Earth's axis. This alignment eliminates long arcs, trails, and streaks due to field rotation. For exposures lasting five minutes or longer, equatorial mounting is required for tack-sharp images.
Construction
CNC machined from a single block of ultra-rigid aircraft grade aluminum, this wedge features unparalleled mounting security and smooth, accurate altitude and azimuth adjustments. The rugged build quality also provides exceptional vibration dampening of larger diameter optical tubes.
