The cheeze plate on the Matthews 10" Vacuum Cup with Cheese Plate has 3/8 non threaded holes. It is made for a 3/8 bolt and nut. You might look for a nut and bolt at a hardware store. Best would be to get a suction cup with a 3/8 thread like this one, https://bhpho.to/3wXOgoz

Any experience using this particular mount in the winter, should I even dare use a car mount in the cold?
The vacuumcups have been tested in cold weather and there is not a problem. There is a bigger problem with elevation than with weather.

Any good solutions for attaching a ball head on top of this? There are no threads in the holes..
Bolt should come up through the bottom of the hole not in line with the handle otherwise remove the top plate bolt the head and remount the plate.
