Impossible to tell which side to print on

It’s impossible to tell which side is the front and which is the back. There is no obvious visual difference between the two sides, so once the paper is removed from the package, there’s no way to know which side you should be printing on. The insert says that the printable side is facing up in the package, but I didn’t realize that I needed to keep track of the paper’s original orientation before removing the insert and several sheets. By then, I had no idea which side had originally been facing up. For paper this expensive, there really needs to be some reliable way to identify the printable side. I’ve now wasted several costly sheets simply trying to figure out which side I’m supposed to print on.

Is the paper surface in the Photo Rag Book & Album heartier than the regular Photo Rag from Hahnemuhle? I find that surface very soft. In other words, will the Book & Album paper stand up to being handled?

The Photo Rag® Book & Album is exactly the same paper base as all of there Photo Rag® products. It is exactly the same surface. I hope this helps.

The Hahnemuhle Photo Rag Paper (13 x 19", 25 Sheets), BH #HAPRSB25188, is designed to use pigment and dye-Based inks which are only used by inkjet printers. Not laser printers.

The Hahnemuhle Photo Rag Book & Album Paper (Short Grain, 11 x 17", 25 Sheets), B&H # HAPRA111725, is not recommended for this use case. If it does not show cracking right away, it will over time.

Hahnemühle Photo Rag Paper is compatible with both pigmented and dye inkjet systems and is ideal for photo and fine art reproduction.
