Swedish Chameleon SC3:SMALL Video DSLR Rig with Follow Focus and Tripod Plate

The Swedish Chameleon SC3:SMALL Video DSLR Rig with Follow Focus and Tripod Plate is a compact and lightweight rig for DSLR video shooters who combine handheld and tripod shots. (It accepts cameras larger than DSLRs, but DSLRs are ideal for its size.) It comes with a versatile, high-quality follow focus and with a tripod plate that mounts the whole rig to a tripod without any part of the rig having to first be removed.

The follow focus is Swedish Chameleon's innovative SC3:FFOCUS for still lenses. It is a one-rod-mount follow focus with a unique belt-driven system in place of the traditional gear wheel system. It is compatible with any diameter still lens and it pulls focus accurately without any play. (For cinema lenses, you can optionally interchange the belt system for Swedish Chameleon's "SC3:Gear 44" gear wheel system. Or, you can use the belt system, but the focus will be "too accurate" as the rotation will require more turns than usual.) Despite its small size, the rig achieves complete three-point stabilization with its adjustable shoulder rod and adjustable handles. The rod rests on your shoulder or alternatively flips over to rest under your arm, and the handles fine-tune sideways, back, and forth. The rod is padded for comfort, and the handles are curved just right and are each equipped with a most pleasant grip.

When you mount the rig onto a tripod by the included tripod plate, the shoulder rod will serve you as an effective tripod arm. When you use the follow focus, you'll be able to use it with one hand, as your shoulder and other hand will support the rig. Also included is a camera twist lock that will prevent a camera from rotating around the camera screw.
