The 4MP Micro Red 4 Enhanced Infrared Digital Scouting Camera from Wildgame Innovations is a digital trail / wildlife camera with a 4MP CMOS sensor for capturing clear photos and video, even in low-light conditions. It's the most compact game scouting camera in the Micro Red series, at approximately 6.0" (15.2 cm) tall and a mere 1.0 lb (0.45 kg) in weight. The camera features the same infrared (IR) technology found in all the Red and Micro cameras, and also makes use of Redux Anti-Blur technology for clear images, even when your subject is in motion. Flextime+ Time Lapse Technology enables the camera to take a picture at set intervals from 15 sec to 5 min.
The Micro Red 4 is capable of day and night video capture at up to 640x480 resolution, recording up to 30 sec at a time. The camera has an LCD text menu screen that displays Time, Date, Location, Photo count, Camera settings, and Battery level (not for playback). It's also equipped with a flash composed of 24 high-intensity LEDs. The effective flash range is up to 60' (18.3 m).
The Moon Phase Stamp feature links the current date to the phase of the moon on that date and imprints an icon on your photo. This is a useful reference, as it can help you determine whether particular animals are inactive at night when a full or nearly full moon is present, causing them to be more visible to predators. Also, if some of your nighttime photos seem to have a darker or lighter background, you can determine whether or not that was related to the brightness of the moon at the time of capture.
The camera accepts SDHC memory cards, as well as SDXC cards of 64GB (not included). It is powered by 8 AA batteries (not included), and also features an external battery port for attaching the EBX External Battery Pack (not included), which offers additional battery power. Connect to your computer via the camera's mini USB port and the included mini USB-to-USB cable. The camera features a plastic, water-resistant housing with rubber gaskets for protection against the elements.
