The Nikon F mount Rokinon 35mm T1.5 Cine AS UMC Lens was developed primarily for film and video applications. The cine version of Rokinon's 35mm lens features industry-standard gearing for the focus and aperture ring, and the aperture ring has been de-clicked for smooth iris pulls. The aperture and focus scales have also been relocated to the side of the lens, where it is easier for focus pullers to read them.

This lens is compatible with FX (full-frame) sensors and can also be used on DX-sized sensors, where the 35mm-equivalent focal length will be 52.5mm. The optical construction incorporates two high refractive index elements and one aspherical element to reduce chromatic aberrations and distortion to produce sharper imagery. Additionally, a UMC coating has been applied to lens elements to minimize lens flare and ghosting for more contrast-rich images.

Wide-angle prime lens is well-suited to use in a broad variety of shooting situations.
Fast T1.5 maximum aperture benefits working in low-light conditions and provides greater control over focus placement for shallow depth of field applications.
Two high refractive index elements and one aspherical element reduce chromatic aberrations in order to produce greater sharpness and clarity.
UMC coating improves light transmission and suppresses lens flare and ghosting for more contrast-rich, color-neutral images.
Geared aperture and focus rings are compatible with standard follow focuses for greater control over adjustment.
De-clicked aperture ring facilitates smooth, quiet exposure adjustments during recording.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from My New Favorite Lens I love this lens. I am so happy that Rokinon came out with their Cine lenses. (come on and make a 50mm already !!!) The geared focus and aperture rings are what attracted me to this lens. Of course the price was a big factor too.It has excellent image quality, solid build quality, lovely bokeh. Yes it has some plastic parts, but over all it actually feels WAY more solid than my Nikon 50mm f1.4 ! In fact the Rokinon is a bit on the heavy side. I also have the Rokinion 85mm T1.5 and between the two of them it is making my primary camera bag a beast to carry. I don't see the weight being a negative though as some mass helps in keeping the camera stable.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love This Lens With 2 Exceptions For glass and performance of the both the iris and focus rings I love it. This is a great lens for video. Add a follow focus and your all set. What I don't like is when I opened the box I saw the rear lens cap had fallen off. Okay no big deal I'll just put it back on... it doesn't fit on tightly. A good shake to the lens and it's falling off again. Also, the lens hood also is very loose.SolutionsFor the rear lens cap I tried one of my Nikons rear lens caps and it fit perfect. So, I'll be buying either a Nikon rear lens cap or a knockoff one.For the lens hood, I saw a video where someone else had the same problem. Their solution was to add a little electrical tape inside the lens hood and it fixed the problem... I'll try that soon.Lens itself deservs 5 stars despite the cap and hood issues.Otherwise I love the look, feel and performance of this lens.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from An excellent manual lens and great price Nothing else comes close to this lens for bang for the buck in a cine lense. The edge to edge sharpness is superb. The contrast and wide open resolution is better than comparable 35mm F1.4 lens that cost much more. There is a tiny amount of CA when wide open, but usually not noticeable. Perfect for beginning and low end S35 video applications.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Nice Lens This is a solid lens. I'm using it with my Sony F3 and it's working well. The iris and focus rotations are smooth and tight. The build seems good. Filter threads are strong. Over all I like this lens so far.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Disappointingly poor image quality I used this lens on a BlackMagic Production Camera 4K. Reviewing the footage at the end of a day of shooting, I noticed that some shots suffered from ghosting around objects' edges and an overall lack of sharpness. These were the shots acquired with the Rokinon lens. The Rokinon produced wholly unacceptable results, which compromised the entire production. Shots acquired with Canon still lenses looked outstanding overall and even more so in comparison to the Rokinon's.We were shooting with the lens at 5.6 or wider, to create the depth of field we wanted. I've attached a screen grab of the results with the lens wide open (or nearly so).I would buy the Canon 35mm still lens and use a focusing-ring adapter before I'd ever use this Rokinon again.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from I love the effects of this lens! giving me that cinematic feel or look that I have been wanting, this lens comes through big time. I have a large assortment of good glass but lacked this style of lens shooting. It goes well with my D-800.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Don't think twice! buy it now! I can't recommend enough this Cine Lens. If you are looking for a great Bang of the Buck lens, with a great optic quality, great built and great performance, this is it. Frankly, I didn't see much difference between the Rokinon or Samyang or Bower Cine Lenses (maybe because they are made by the same Korean company). Even If you are a pro, the quality of this lens, and the low-low-low price you're investing on this, makes this Cine Lens a must have in a low budget production. Don't think twice!
