We bought three of these for our studio cameras so we could use the Canon focus demands and also the Varizoom zoom demands on Canon 18-85 lenses. It just works. And we had tried a lot of other things that absolutely did not.

This cable made by Acebil is the one that I am looking for a long time, but... I wish Acebill would considered to make another product similar but make more sense. Since Sony camncorder has only one output that combines two in one: LanC and Video output. Since this Acebil cable is for remote controlling the cam at a distance, it would be a great help if Acebill also make another cable: the Y cable, that we can use both devices at the same time: 1) Remote control and 2) monitor the video output through an external monitor as well. I deduct one star because of that.
