The Luxbanx Medium Strip Softbox from Impact is a light shaper with a high degree of directional control thanks to its long narrow form factor. Designed to illuminate a "strip" of the subject as compared to other modifiers, this 16x55" size softbox is ideal for fitting into tight spaces with low ceilings. It's often used to photograph large products or in full length portraiture to edge light the subject, and it's a good choice for hairlighting large groups and lighting cycs and backgrounds. This size is also often used to provide highlights in car and motorcycle photography.

I purchased mine for Elinchrom and believe that the speed rings are brand specific. See if Impact has Norman speed rings available.

question

Is there an impact speed ring for speedotron M11's, or will my existing speedotron ring be compatible with this soft box?
Asked by: Leigh
No, we do not have an Impact speedring that is compatible for use with the Speedotron M1 strobe head. However, the Westcott Speed Ring for Strip Bank & Octa Bank for Speedotron, B&H # WESROBS, or the Photoflex Speed Ring for Speedotron, B&H # PHSRDS, would work for your usage needs. If you currently have a Speedotron speedring that fits your light fixture and that may be used with universal softboxes, then yes, it will also be compatible for use with the above Impact Luxbanx Medium Strip Softbox (16 x 55 ).

What inexpensive fluorescent light can be used with it? And what adapter would be needed?
Asked by: Lance
A fixture you may use that can accept a fluorescent bulb is the Photoflex StarLite QL Tungsten Fixture (120-240 VAC) B&H # PHSLFVBSL320. It would need the Photoflex Mogul to E-27 Lamp Adapter B&H # PHFVSKT and then the ALZO CFL Photo Light Bulb (85W, 120V) B&H # AL151255. To attach the softbox, you will also need the Photoflex Speed Ring Octo Connector for Starlite B&H # PHSRSOC. https://bhpho.to/2xm4iqF https://bhpho.to/2DQcgOV https://bhpho.to/2MshD9q https://bhpho.to/2SlOL8e

question

It says that it is not to be used with a ''hot light'', but I use Bowens Gemini flashes and their model lights are 250w Halostar E27 and I also have 500W E11 model lights. Is it dangerous to use this softbox with those flashes?
Asked by: Anonymous
A 250 watt modeling light is fine. It is not designed for higher and should not be used with a 500 watt modeling lamp.Note, with any softbox one should keep an eye on it for safety when using a quartz modeling lamp.Quartz modeling lamps higher than 250 watts the Duo version of the softbox should be used.
