The PCIX-424 card from MOTU is a component of the company's 424 hard disc recording systems and is installable into any Windows or Mac computer featuring PCIX architecture. Registered owners of older PCI-324 systems can upgrade that card to the PCIX-424 version.
The PCIX-424 card allows the user to run a MOTU PCI core system on any computer with PCI Standard (5V) or PCI-X (3.3V) slots. Additionally, the card adds features over the original PCI-324 card, including a fourth Audio Wire port for connecting a fourth MOTU PCI audio interface to the system. Depending on the I/O configuration, this allows for having up to 96 inputs and outputs at 96kHz on a single card system.
CueMixDSP is a processor dedicated to creating a custom tailored monitor mix of up to 96 channels of 96kHz audio that takes place on the card itself, rather than making the round trip from the PCI bus to the host processor, completely eliminating the buffer latency associated with monitoring on host-based systems.
