Bowens 400Rx overview

  • 1Description

The multi award-winning Bowens Gemini 400Rx 400Ws Monolight (90-130VAC) is as compact and lightweight as the standard Gemini flash heads but now includes a built-in Pulsar radio receiver controlled via a simple, single push button.

The Pulsar radio allows full control over 24 different radio zones, using four channels and six studio settings, enabling photographers to isolate various light sources or combining them and firing them all at once, without leaving your camera.

The inclusion of the integrated Pulsar radio receiver coupled with the versatility of compatibility with both mains (AC) and optional Travelpack battery power operation makes the Gemini Rx one of the most resource-rich monolight systems available today.

Bowens 400Rx reviews

Gemini 400Rx 400W/s Monolight (90-130VAC) is rated 4.7 out of 5 by 11.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome Product First ever light other than a speedlight. Had to jump in, you know there's so much that one can read about lighting, being to play with one is just such a jump forward with your knowledge and skills. The product itself feels solidly built. Great light. I also purchased the 60 degree reflector and a 7' umbrella. Discovered this is not the right reflector, but still works. Discovered the light doesn't have an umbrella holder, the holder is on the reflector, but I also discovered a 7' umbrella would be too much for this reflector anyway. See? Everything is a learning experience. Great intro level studio light. I like the dial approach to regulate the f/stops.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Monolight I recently photographed a bass guitar collection for a friend of mine. To get the lighting correct I purchased a 400x kit that came with two 400x mono-lights, 2 stands 2 umbrellas and carry case. Great Value. I needed one more light to light the back drop behind the guitars which prompted me to buy a third one. They are very powerful and easy to use. Extremely well built and have a high quality look. If you buy the 400x kit you will get the pulsar transmitter to trigger them from you cameras hot shoe. If you are buying just one then you would need to add that item to make it work.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect Power for My Small Studio My studio is quite small, at 12' x 26' and this unit is the perfect power output for me. At minimum power with a 48 Octabank and two layers of diffusion, I get a meter reading of f2.8 at about a 3' distance. That's perfect when I'm sooting portraits at a minimum depth of field. At about two thirds power, I'm reading f11 at 4', and that's the highest output I've needed to use. Also, the color output is very consistent from frame to frame. This unit is a great investment and I'm very satisfied.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great! I purchased this for my photo booth at the recommendation of a friend and it has been great. It really gives great flash lighting. My pictures come out fantastic and my clients are happy. I wasn't quite prepared for the weight of the unit but other than that it really is awesome. Ordering with B&H was really smooth I appreciate the free expedited shipping.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love this light! I use this light primarily for commercial photography applications, like product and food photography. I use it a lot with the Bowens Universal Spot Adapter, and it works awesome.
