Replacement Coiled Cable for Sony MDR7506 Headphones (2') is rated 4.0 out of 5 by 10.
Rated 3 out of 5 by from Sturdy, but cord isn't long enough This coiled cable is sturdy and is easy to solder as compared to the original Sony lacquer-coated wire. It's a bit heavy though. However, it has one major flaw. The original Sony cable has about a foot or more of straight (non-coiled) cable at both ends, whereas this replacement leaves you so little straight cable to work with. Once installed, the coiled part reaches all the way to the left ear piece and there is almost no straight cable near the 1/8 connector. This is fine if your head is within 2' of your equipment's headphone jack, but in our radio stations it is not adequate. This would be a five star product if not for that.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from JACKS BREAK AFTER A FEW MONTHS Based on the positive reviews, I bought two of these to repair two trusty sets of Sony Headphones. While the cables are good quality, the mini-jacks are not. Both replacement sets started to become glitchy after a couple of months use, and completely failed after about 6 months, which is far less than the lifespan of the original. The issue is that the plastic washers that separate the different elements of the mini-jack do not last. Will be replacing with a different cable.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from great purchase The item is used on headphones used on some of the bigger audio systems in South Africa. The cable seems so much better in quality and ruggedness for use on the road as I do. I'm also quite pleased with the quality of connector and its connection. The weight of the cable and the fact that it is always moving the audio desk sliders is something to get used to.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Waiting to order some more when they're available Replacing the original cable does require careful soldering; however it is worth taking the time to do so. These cables are heavier and more robust than the originals and better suited to the rigors of on set life. I'm retiring all my old headphone cables in favor of these when time and supply allows.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great cable for field work! I needed to replace the cable on my MDR7506 headphones which I use with my Sound Devices gear. This cable is fantastic replacement for field work. Stiffer than the original, but more heavy duty. Just the right length needed for field work.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Shorter Than Original It works well, I have a problem with it not being as long with the uncoiled portion. It was easy to put on, make sure you check the online manual. The jack is a bit odd shaped - some cameras to do not take it easily, so be careful.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good Quality It's a little heavier than the original cable but it's really good. I'm very pleased with this product.
