Seems and excellent replacement cord

I want to chime in here before I forget. I just finished replacing this cable and I'd like to thank RMills for the connection reference; it worked out perfect. I also wanted to mention that my cable came with a piece of shrink tubing and a zip tie. I used the shrink tubing inside the headphone cover to eliminate any pulling tension on the lines, but thinking about this now I should have used the supplied zip tie inside the headphone and after the soldering used the shrink tubing on the outside to make a nice snug fit. IE the zip tie holds position inside, shrink tubing holds it outside. I believe that would be the proper way to do this. Otherwise the cable seems like it should be quite durable and I like the straight cord as well.

Great cord ... until it stopped working

Great replacement cable, until it wasn't ... it lasted me almost exactly three years to the day, when it developed a short somewhere (I suspect in the plug) and no longer transmits both channels. Not excited to shell out another $35 for one if it's only going to last a few years. And, FWIW, I'm gentle with my cables ... there's not discernable trauma to it, and it only recevied normal use.
