How does the Auray compare to the Neewer boompole holder?
The Auray seems to be more durable than the Neewer one. When I was adjusting the grip head for the boom pole that we were using the Neewer base (of the pole holder) sheared off. Neewer did send us a replacement though.

What is the maximum diameter pole that this will hold?
I don't have it in front of me to measure, unfortunately, but it must be able to accomodate a fairly significantly wide pole because the one we have is easily 2" across and has plenty of wiggle room in both areas that make contact with the holder.

The Auray Boom Pole Holder has a black, rubberized coating on the cradle to protect your boompole when it is in use.

How do you prevent this from spinning? If I need to cue the blimp at a 45 degree angle, it won't hold in place.

question
Whats the maximum weight this can handle? Was hoping to use with a monopod and FS5.
I wouldn't trust this thing with a camera. Get a Cardellini clamp or something instead.
