The Swarovski TLS APO 30mm Digiscoping Lens for ATX / STX spotting scopes is a proprietary adapter used to connect a DSLR or mirrorless camera body with APS-size sensors to the viewing module of ATX / STX series spotting scopes. When the TLS APO, T2 adapter, and camera body are mounted to the spotting scope eyepiece, users are treated to a truly stunning digiscoping experience. The TLS APO has a 30mm lens that perfectly aligns the camera sensor with the focal plane of the transmitted image. Regardless of the camera used, you will capture contrast-rich and sharp video and still images using the premium optics of your Swarovski spotting scope. A camera and T2 camera adapter are required to complete the Swarovski digiscoping system, and are not included.

    Rated 4 out of 5 by from Love being able to take telephotos If you want to buy into Swarovski's scopes and want to take photos with your DSLR, this is a worthy purchase. It replaces the lens on your camera and easily attached to your scope, and just as easily detaches allowing the scope to function normally. While a dedicated, high quality, telephoto lens for your camera will probably produce sharper photographs, those lenses are expensive compared to a scope with this add-on. It takes some practice to make best use of it. It also takes patience, because the animals (usually) that you might want to photograph don't usually sit around waiting for you to get set up.

    Rated 5 out of 5 by from Digiscoping made easy Perfectly aligns the camera body with the scopes eyepiece. With some understanding of ISO and shutter speed, it takes fantastic images. Attaches and detaches lightning fast. Is a camera lens that takes pictures when not attached to the scope. This tool will change the future of digiscoping. This lens has no focus feature. You use the spotting scope to focus, it takes some practice to get super sharp images.

    Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nice adapter Both of the camera adapters for the ATX come with a replacement eyepiece ring that snugs down a supplied collar. If one collar is installed, either adapter can be used. The big end of the TLS adapter fits over the collar and is locked in place with a thumbscrew. Images taken through the adapter are excellent. The downside is that the adapter/scope combination has an effective f stop that is relatively high, perhaps around f11. Thus, there are choices to be made on ISO, shutter speed, and lighting. The camera and TLS adapter add weight that unbalances the setup. My Canon 60D does not provide focus indications with higher f stop lenses, so focusing is manual by eyesight. A remote camera release improves results. That being said, the adapter works very well, and is easy to install/remove. The TLS adapter is not supplied with any kind of case.

    Rated 5 out of 5 by from Easy to use, great images This adapter is well engineered and is a breeze to interchange between having the camera on the scope and having the camera off the scope for regular viewing. Images through the adapter are clear and as seen. This adapter unit makes it easy to take stunning images through your high quality optics. I'm currently using it to perform spectroscopy of stars.

    Rated 5 out of 5 by from A good Swarovski scope accessory When in the field with a spotting scope and camera you can't always drag along a big lens. This accessory allows some telephoto shots through the scope. Most DSLRs if not all, do not operate seamlessly with the sccope as a lens. You will be somewhat limited to manual settings, without autofocus of the camera. As far as I can tell the lens is around f11 at lowest magnification. The Swarovski scope has a fairly sharp focus setting, particularly at short distances. So focusing requires care, including careful diopter adjustment of the camera. Also, a wireless shutter is almost a requirement, since the effective lens for the camera will be about 1500mm or more. And the scope will have a different balance point for viewing and photography. Use is simple. Put the scope on the subject, then slip the adapter over the eyepiece and secure with a knob. It's a bit pricey, but after all you are putting it on a Swarovski. A nice addition to your camera bag.

    Rated 4 out of 5 by from Still learning, but works well so far. Once I figured out how to set the camera, this is pretty fun to use. The directions are somewhat lacking. I had it set up wrong until I saw a video online. I docked it one star since the scope (an STX 95mm, an amazingly sharp pile of glass) seems a bit compromised with the adapter. However, due to the weather this time of year (January), I haven't used the TLS APO enough to give it a complete workout. Needs a heavy tripod, so I ended up using a ancient HEAVY wooden view camera tripod. The depth of field is so tight when you are shooting half a mile away, that I was wishing the Swarovski had a fine focus adjustment like my old Zeiss. Also, I am surprised Swarovski did not come up with a better way of attaching this, than using a thumbscrew. Leaves the tiniest bit of wobble.

    Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazing quality Easy setup on my canon EOS 60D. Mates perfectly to the STX spotting scope And with some practice takes excellent photo's! I would recommend this product hands down If you have the best, and want the best attachment Swarvoski is the only way to go
