No. This camera adaptor provides a Nikon F mount and screws onto the TLS APO digiscoping lens. The TLS APO attaches to the scope.

I have a Swarovski 20-60x80 HD Spotting Scope and a DCA Zoom adapter. Is this Swarovski T2 adapter the remaining part that I need to successfully connect to my Nikon D4s?

Hi Rick - no, the DCA Zoom is designed to screw onto the filter threads of a Nikon lens and then attach the camera + lens + DCA onto the scope eyepiece. A T-mount is not needed. The biggest drawback with this system is that, when mounted on the spotting scope eyepiece, the entire weight of the D4s and lens is literally hanging off the filter threads of the lens. That is one of the reasons why Swarovski Optik eventually designed the TLS APO System. See below.Typically, a Nikkor 50mm works pretty well for an APS-sensor camera like a D7x00, D500, or other similar Nikon camera. If you use the 50mm on the full-frame camera, you will see some edge vignetting. you can either crop that out in post-processing, or set the camera to DX-Crop Mode and let the camera do the work.The other option is the new TLS APO 43, which will give full-frame images with no vignetting. See below.You will have NO autofocus capability, as the camera will try to focus the lens and fail to reach a proper focus setting. The explanation is rather long. In any case, you will have to focus the spotting scope while looking through the camera, so put your face up to the camera viewfinder and make sure that your focus point is correct. I have found that simply using the camera's LCD screen for focusing the scope is often not accurate enough when a precise focus in needed.The unique optical relationship of the scope eyepiece and the camera lens means that stopping down the lens will NOT give you a better depth of field, and will in fact not change the amount of light hitting the camera sensor. For proper metering, the lens should ALWAYS be set at wide-open, otherwise the camera's light meter gets confused. Aperture Preferred and Manual are my usual metering choices.The optical quality of the camera + 50mm lens shot through the scope at 20x or 25x is surprisingly good, but falls apart pretty quickly when you zoom the scope eyepiece much higher. That is the other reason that Swarovski Optik developed the TLS APO system.There are three TLS APOs - the 23, 30, and 43. They are pancake style lenses that were optically designed to optimize the scope image at the camera sensor. they are fully waterproof, mounted in a rugged housing, and attach to your camera body by using a T-Mount (aka T2 Mount). When mounted on the camera and attached to the scope, the system is as rugged as if you were using a Nikon super telephoto lens. The APO 43 is designed for full-frame FX sensors, the 30 works best with APS-sized sensors, and the 23 is for Micro 4/3 cameras.Let me know if you have any other questions!

Will this adaptor work for a Nikon 1 mirrorless camera, or is there a different adaptor?

I don't own a Nikon 1 camera so I'm not familiar with that system. I use this with a Nikon D800 SLR camera which has a Nikon F bayonet mount. According to the Nikon USA website the Nikon 1 system uses a Nikon 1 mount which I assume is different than the Nikon F mount. The Nikon 1 system does have an adapter to adapt the Nikon 1 mount to the Nikon F lenses, however I don't know if it is practical to use both adapters at once. You may want to E-mail Swarovski and ask about this. Swarovski also has a digiscoping system to use with Point and shoot cameras. This system might work with the Nikon 1 system.

When using a Nikon D500 or D800, will the camera's aperture or shutter priority modes work with this adapter? Or are all settings manual?

Hi Alfred - Please see my answer to your question from July 9. In addition, I was able to try using Auto ISO and a fixed shutter speed with a Nikon D810, and the system did correctly meter and expose scenes of different brightness. Thus, you can use the Auto ISO setting with the cameras on the spotting scope.
