ikan SM-201 Overview

The Ultra-Heavy Duty Camera Shoe Mount from Ikan is a 1/4" mount that can mount directly to a DSLR shoe mount, and allows for the attachment of accessories like display monitors. This ball head has a single locking knob for fast and safe operation, and is easily removable.

Accessories attach via the 1/4"-20 screw thread on top and the bottom features a removable shoe mount. The head itself allows for 90° vertical articulation.

I don't think this is a good product. think and stable when mounted but also shakable.

I would buy this product again.

I had a cheap mount that broke while I was on a shoot, holding a monitor. Very embarrassing, seeing it flop this way and that way. Attached this and it felt strong and steady, only used it once but I don't think I'll have any problems. Built very well.

Is there any danger of short-circuiting the hot shoe contacts when used on a Nikon D7100?What are the dimensions?Thanks, Ken

As the ikan Ultra-Heavy Duty Camera Shoe Mount is a cold shoe mount, it will not short-circuit the hot shoe contacts on the Nikon D7100 DSLR camera. Unfortuantely, iKan does not list the dimensions of the item; they only list the weight, which is 0.25 lbs / 4 oz. The shipping dimensions of the item is 4.0 in x 2.1 in x 0.5 in (LxWxH). The actual dimensions should be slightly smaller compared to the shipping dimensions.
