The Strike Finder Pro II Camera Trigger for Select Nikon Cameras from Ubertronix is a camera trigger system that fires your camera automatically in reaction to three distinct prompts: light, sound and laser response. The Strike Finder Pro II attaches to the hot shoe of your camera and connects via a dedicated cable to your camera's remote port. The trigger will activate your camera to shoot upon detecting sound, lightning (or other light flash), or when a laser beam is broken. For detecting sound a small attachment with an 18" cable that plugs into the side of the Strike Finder Pro II is required and included. Upon detection of the various prompts, the Strike Finder Pro II sends a signal to your camera to release the shutter. The camera will shoot within 45-60 milliseconds, providing you with photos that are nearly impossible to take with our own hand-eye reaction.

The Strike Finder Pro II with the MC30 cable is compatible with the following cameras: Nikon D3, D3x, D700, D800, D300, D200, D2H, D1H, D1X, D4.

Strike Finder Pro II Camera Trigger for Select Nikon Cameras is rated 1.5 out of 5 by 2.
Rated 1 out of 5 by from Missed Every Lightning Strike I bought this used last month and have yet to capture a single lightning strike...it does not trigger for lightning. The laser trigger works, but have not tried in a real field application. I would return it, but already exceeded the 30 Day Return policy. If you are looking for a lightning trigger, look elsewhere.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Laser good Lightning not so good I was excited to get this trigger. Bought it almost 3 months ahead of storm season. I did make use of the laser function for drip photography after I finally received my order of the laser pointer from Ubertronix. I suspect they have a small workforce or it wouldn't have taken more than 2 weeks to receive. Anyway the drip photography went well. They trigger performed as expected. Now onto the lightning tests. All of these were after dark. First time there was lite activity, the Strike Finder triggered on a few strikes but missing all of them. Second time was a big storm very close to home. Trigger was responding because there were plenty of close activity. Surprised it didn't catch more as I watched numurous strikes in which the Strike Finder did not respond and I had it set at the most sensitive setting. Regardless I did come away with over 50 decent pictures. Third time a storm to the west again but more distant. Maybe 50 strikes but the trigger only went off on 5 or 6 and only 2 good ones. Fourth time. Fresh battery for this one. Storm was more distant maybe 5 miles or so. About 40 strikes with the trigger going 10 times. All misses. Fifth time. Very spectacular from 3 or 4 miles away. I counted more than 200 strikes. Some quite impressive. Strike finder took about 12 shots. Caught 6 ones. One was very good. Not to miss out on any others I went manual and caught a few minor and one major one. Sent a email to the dealer 4 days ago explaining on what has been happening. I have communicated with them prior and they would respond within 24 hours. Haven't heard anything. Wonder if others are also experiencing the same thing. I am disappointed. Talked with some other photographers using different brands of the lightning triggers. They have not had the problems I have so I suspect this one is faulty but I will look elsewhere for the next trigger. So word of caution. Don't buy this until storm season so if it doesn't work you can return it. I would have but it is too long since I bought it. I did give 2 stars because the laser portion of the trigger worked fine but that wasn't the primary reason I bought it.
