Cables Came . superb B&H Service. But it is thin flexible Mogami but worried that even for studio where a band can step on cable it is not as durable as I wish? worried that it will pick up noise due to thinness?
I would not expect to have any issues with noise because of the thin design. Mogami cable is high quality and well shielded, and this particular cable is specifically designed using materials that allow it to be thinner and more flexible than their standard mic cable while still delivering the same quality in sound and durability that you would expect from Mogami.

question
Would this be the appropriate cable to buy if I want to make up some custom lengths of XLR cable?
absolutely. Thats exactly what I used it for. I made a bunch of sub-12 foot mic cables, and two 40 foot runs. Great for in studio or permanent installs where the cable won't get stepped on too much. Its durable, but very flexible, which means probably bad for road-use and great for in-home, in-studio, or low-traffic areas.

question
Is this cable appropriate for connecting from console to active speaker system, or from console to console? How much does this roll weight?
This is pretty light gauge mic cable, it's excellent quality but I wouldn't call it durable if it's gonna get stepped on or be subjected to getting squashed, etc. I use it to make all the low z cables in my home studio. It's fantastic if you're after low weight and high quality. Very pliable too.
