Novoflex FUX/MIN-MD Reviews

Worth the price?

Novoflex has a reputation for being a precise, finely crafted, German produced converter; and it is. The fit on the Fuji XT-1 is perfect which is why i'm giving it four stars. But ... I didn't experience any difference in the ability to manually focus on my subjects as compared to the inexpensive converters for Micro 4/3 and Sony cameras I've used in the past. Perhaps my shooting style - family candids - is the reason why I didn't see the value in this converter; no need to accurately focus to infinity, which i'm sure the main reason for the difference in price between the Novoflex and less expensive versions. My advice ... if you're not using this to shoot landscapes and require accurate focus at infinity, then get a less expensive converter and buy yourself another legacy lens with the savings.

Best lens adapter on the market

Very solid fit. Locks in nice and tight with no play. I had tried the cheaper @ adapters and they were all terrible and felt loose. The Novoflex adapter is worth the money and a great investment in my opinion. Especially if you are planning on using it a lot like me.

question

Does this work on an XT-1?

It fits the Fuji x mount on the XT-1 perfectly. Infinite focus, however, isn't quite perfectly aligned. I found the adapter is a great way to use my old minolta MD lenses for portraits and macro work, but the electronic view finder isn't always good enough to get far-away objects in perfect focus. The only lens I'll consistently use with the adapter in the future is with my MD 50 mm f 3.5 macro lens (a wonderful lens). I loved the feeling of manually focusing the MD lenses on the XT-1 body, but there are so many good and affordable Fujinon X-mount lenses (35 mm and 27 mm primes and the 18-55 mm and 18-135 mm zooms) that you're probably going to get more consistent results with those. At least IMHO.
