This is designed for forward firing speakers, not really for downward. I would look more into a thin sheet of Neoprene or rubber for under the sub.

How does this product differ from the IsoAcoustics L8R200?
the main difference between an Isolation Pad and the IsoAcousics stands will be positioning. The Isoacoustics will offer height and angle adjustment. The effectiveness will be similar in regards to decoupling from a surface is similar. Both producing solid results.
