Auray WSF-2216-WP overview

  • 1Description

The Auray WSF-2216-WP Water-Resistant Shotgun Foam Windscreen is designed to reduce unwanted broadband wind noise and vocal pops while protecting the microphone from inclement weather. It is made from specialty water-resistant acoustic foam that offers added protection for your mic from rain and snow. The density of the foam is optimized to help protect the microphone element from air bursts and moisture without muffling the sound.

The WSF-2216-WP has an inside depth of 16cm and is designed for use with shotgun microphones. When used on a shotgun microphone, this windscreen is effective in minimizing wind noise and plosive sounds while keeping the microphone dry. It is most effective in calm to light breeze conditions (0-7mph), with dry weather or light to moderate precipitation. It can be used indoors for protection against drafts caused by air-conditioners. Users can generally expect a 4dB to 8dB reduction in wind noise, with very slight dampening of high frequencies. For most applications, the very slight high frequency dampening is a worthwhile exchange for the notable wind noise reduction, and protection from moisture.

The WSF-2216-WP's foam is hypoallergenic and washable and helps prevent moisture and dirt from damaging your microphone. The windscreen is designed to fit microphones from Rode, Sennheiser, Sony, Schoeps and others.

The WSF-2216-WP Foam Windscreen for Shotgun Microphones is an effective solution for basic wind and foul weather protection.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from It was a wast of money! the building material is very thin and feels very cheep it said that it would fit an MKH 60 but this thing would be torn trying to get it to fit an MKH 60. this was a complete wast of my money

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good Quality Windscreen I use this with my Sanken CS-1 short shotgun and it's a very good fit. Being water-resistant it's handy to have in light rain conditions, and it seems a bit more durable than the original Sanken foam.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from No distortion No problems, works great. It is a bit too short for my Sennheiser ME66. I thought I read this was the recommended length for it. Go with the next size length, same diameter for this mic.
