Impact QB-QSP Overview

The Impact QuikStik+ Telescopic Handle adds flexibility and functionality to your shoe-mount flash or small strobe with light modifiers, such as Impact's Quikboxes or umbrellas. Ideal for use as a hair light, fill light or backlight, the QuikStik+ allows you to extend light sources weighing up to five pounds as high as 5.3' overhead.

The QuikStik+ features an adjustable swivel handle with several unique features that promote comfort and precise placement of your light source. Using the QuickStick+ with two hands allows the hand grasping the swivel handle to act as a fulcrum on which the telescopic section pivots, in order to adjust the height. Since the handle can be moved along the length of the pole section, you're able to adjust the center of gravity for ideal balance. What sounds technical is really fast, simple, and intuitive, with the bottom line being overall comfort. You can make your handle adjustment in less time than it took to read this sentence.

The included webbed nylon flag holder-type strap adds another level of comfort. The holder, in conjunction with the swivel handle, allows you to shift nearly all of the weight to your hip for one-hand operation over an extended period of time, leaving your other hand free for multi-tasking. The top stud accepts any standard 5/8" female accessory, such as the Impact Umbrella Bracket or Multi-Shoe Bracket. It is topped with a screw that also permits the use of 1/4"-20 accessories.

Seems simple to use and perfect for positioning my 24 softbox when I have an assistant available. I was surprise that it also came with a strap to help support it at the base.

I don't use it very often but when I need to have an assistant to hold a off-camera light in the proper position, this works perfectly. The holster is also a great feature.

I've been using a few sections from a boom stand for the same purpose as this handle. Hard to beat $35 and a compact design.

got one - love it. also seems like it can go past the 5 lb limit. They probably say 5 lb so you can't blame them when you break your 10lb light on it. the handle is great. The pouch isn't the best but at that price point, you get what you pay for . I use my engrig pouch with it.

I'm impressed with this extending handle, both for use with my Nikon 910 flash and the Westcott 200ws strobe, with their respective beauty dishes attached. I haven't tried it yet with the Westcott 400ws head, but I believe that it can handle the weight with no problem. Included is a strap to help take the vertical weight off your arms for longer term use. Soft coverings on the stem increase comfort as well. The pivoting side arm, at least for me, is unnecessary but I can see where others might find it useful. I'm not a fan of friction clamps for the stem extensions, but so far they've held up fine. Time will tell. Taken altogether, this is a worthwhile accessory for a good price.

Ok for the price

I bought this item for outside protraits with flash, the second handle needs to be adjustable at a more decent speed, the screws for this can get loose enough to be of the system prety easily.

anyone used it with the Westcott fj400?
Asked by: Braden
I have only used the QuickStick with speed lights (canon 600 and profoto A1). I have 2 QuickSticks, and they're great (the shoulder strap is kind of awkward). The previous comment says QuickStick can take max weight of 5lbs. Having worked with some cheesy light stands in the past and having worked with some fairly heavy lighting equipment, I feel confident this pole could hold an fj400, bracket, and lightbox. I will say that the Bowens mount for my A1 doesn't hold the impact 2x2 lightbox very well! I will also say that any lightbox on this stick with even a light breeze can be like holding a sail in the wind.

Would a Godox AD400 Pro + a 36” octobox be too heavy for this?
Asked by: Edgar
The AD400 Pro is 4.63 lbs on its own, so adding a 36" octabox would end up exceeding the load capacity of this arm.

Can this be rested on the ground alone? Or is there an female screw slot on the bottom of the handle to add monopod legs?
Asked by: Jared
This is not a self supporting monopod. There is a foam handle at the bottom and I haven't looked for a female thread at the base but I would venture a guess of no.

question

I have a canon 320 ex speed light, what would I need to get to b able to mount it to this pole?
Asked by: Avrumie K.
I simply used the little plastic foot piece that came with the flash to screw it onto the pole. The end of the pole is a screw mount. There are also impact brackets you can buy for more flexibility and to allow you to angle the flash or add an umbrella too. (for example the Impact 9101880 for $25)

Asked by: Greg
Purchased this product ,have not used it yet, it seems sturdy and came with the control handle. BH-IMQBQ5P is the item I received . It did not come with a mount for the flash or soft box.it also came with the mounting pod that is used to hold the pole for look periods of time.
