Impact Quikbox Overview

The Impact Quikbox Softbox (24 x 24") is a great way soften the output of your studio or battery powered flash unit. The Quikbox lives up to its name by popping open and assembling in a minute or two. Just open the softbox, add the diffusers and the required speed ring that fits your strobe, mount it on a light stand and you're ready to shoot.

Using a softbox with your strobe will help to diffuse and evenly distribute the light output of the flash. This will help to reduce those harsh shadows which are often the result of open flash photography. The Quikbox design solves the problem by using an internal diffuser to minimize the possibility of hotspots from the strobe source while the recessed front face helps to control spill light. The Quikbox requires separate purchase or use of a standard speed ring insert matched to your brand of strobe head.

Note: all standard speedrings have 2 parts that can be separated: the outer support ring that accepts the softbox poles and the inner insert with your strobe's mount. Since the Quikbox is free-standing, you need only pull the separated insert through aperture at the back of the box and mount it to the strobe.

Great product for its value

The budget Lastolite

This EZYbox knockoff is a great way to get soft lighting without breaking the bank. Size and shape are virtually identical to the Ezybox 2462. The front diffuser provides less diffusion than the EZYbox, but still does the job. The Impact grid for this box fits the EZYbox, though the grid is not deep enough to provide much effect. The bracket isnt as strong or professionally made, but still does the job. Well worth the money. Lastolite, watch out!

question

Which Speed Ring to use for Impact LiteTrek 4.0 DC Monolight and Norman LH2400 Lamphead?
Asked by: Bill
Unfortunately, this softbox would not be compatible with the Impact Litetrek monolight nor the Norman LH-2400 head. A softbox in a similar size which can work for both is the Impact Luxbanx Medium Rectangular Softbox (24 x 32 ) B&H # IMLBRM. For the Litetrek head, you can use the Phottix Speed Ring for Comet Mount (144 mm) B&H # PH82608 and for the Norman head, you can use the Chimera Speed Ring for Studio Strobe - for Norman LH500 & 2400 B&H # CHSRNLH500 to attach this Impact Luxbanx softbox. question

is it possible to use the quikbox with an Einstein (Paul C Buff) strobe as well as a Speedlight?
Asked by: Polar P.
Unfortunately, this model is limited for use with shoe mount type flashes. However, Lastolite produces the Ezybox II and a speed ring to fit the Einstein strobe. Please see the images below for reference.

I lost the speed ring bracket, can I use a bowens mount in its place?
Asked by: Steve
While a standard Bowens speed ring would not be compatible, the Impact Speed Ring Flash Bracket For Quikbox, B&H # IMQBBKT, would be the replacement flash bracket originally included with the purchase of the Impact Quikbox Softbox with Shoe Mount Flash Bracket (24 x 24"). https://bhpho.to/3UZyJkA

question

What is the maximum possible height from the shoe mount to the top of the flash?I have an old powerful Metz CT-3 and would love to use it with this (the flash is tall , and it also has a non-centered mounting hole -about 1 from center of vertical line - discarding the horizontal bottom camera mounting bar for this purpose)Thank you very much!
Asked by: AQUILES
We do not have the exact distance it can slide but it is not made to work with a flash like that. It is designed to work with standard speedlights.

question

What is the size of the hole for the Flash head??I have a flash (not Canon/Nikon Flash) with big head so I'm not sure if it will fit in..Thank you very much in advance!!
Asked by: AQUILES
I easily fit my Nikon SB800 and SB900 within the hole. The assembly comes with a round mount that slips into the back. That round mount has a rectangular hole for the flash head. The round mount is 5 3/4 inches and the rectangular cutout is 4 1/2 inches wide by 2 3/4 inches tall. I have used this setup quite a bit and it really works well as long as your flash head fits within those dimensions.
