  • Reversible Black/White Panel
  • Reversible Silver/Gold Panel

The Impact Reflector Panel is a light-shaping tool with four aluminum rods and a geared bracket that hold its 35 x 70" fabric taut without a frame. Two reversible reflective fabrics are included; black/white and gold/silver. The silver material is the most specular of the surfaces and ideal for long throw applications while being bright enough to mimic an additional light source. Gold adds a warm hue to your subject and is especially valuable in cool-toned open shade or to create sunset effects. White is the softest and most neutral surface, most often used to gently fill in shadows and adjust lighting ratios.

I've used this on virtually every video interview set since purchasing. Makes for an easy clam shell set up for standing interviews.

Can this be assembled "backwards"? Can the stand sit in the middle of the rods versus behind them? Trying to save space.
Asked by: Brian
Yes, you could set this up so the stand is inside the Impact Reflector Panel, but it would limit the range of positions.

question

I'd like to use this to create a shadowless portrait photographed outdoors. In theory, this unit would be hovering above the subject, blocking out highlights and shadows. So, first of all, can this shadowless portrait be achieved by using your product? Secondly, I rarely work with an assistant. Is this something I could manage by myself, perhaps weighing down the stand? Thank you.

This works great indoors. I think you will need some creative rigging to hold the reflector in place. It's a great reflector but very lightwieght.Skipper

question

I'm curious as to how this product would hold up for outdoor portraits. Will it stay intact on a breezy day?I work alone. So I would set up, using a light stand, weighted down with sand bags.
Asked by: Paul
I use this reflector on almost a daily basis. The reflector holds very tight by tension. It could get noisy in the wind, but I don't think it would come apart unless a really strong wind came in from the side of the stand, but I still think it would topple over rather than come apart.

question

Did anyone have issues with the length of the aluminum rods? I can only fit two in at one time and when I do, I have maybe 1/4 of the reflector sheet left.

I have not had any problem

question

Is there a shoot-thru diffusion fabric available? Seems like this would be a great way to soften a fresnel mounted on the same stand with a superclamp.
Asked by: Mark
In the hands of a talented seamstress, the two-sided panels provided (white/black & silver/gold) would make simple patterns for creating a diffuser panel(s) of varying opacity. They shouldn't cost much to produce. Opt for the Impact Flex Arm Super Clamp Kit and you'll have plenty of adjustability for positioning your fresnel.
