The Redrock Micro ultraCage DSLR Upper Support Chassis is an upgrade for the ultraBase DSLR, which is a 15mm rod-mount baseplate for DSLRs. The Upper Chassis connects to the ultraBase and with it creates a full frontal cage, with a 15mm rod clamp on top and threads all around. Threads on the rod clamp support an optional ultraCage top handle.
Included with the Upper Chassis are shoe clamps for the Canon 5D Mark II and Mark III and for the Nikon D800. The Mark II clamp is also compatible with the 7D. The D800 clamp is also compatible with the D800E. A shoe clamp attaches right underneath the rod clamp and a matching DSLR connects onto the shoe clamp to securely be fixed in the cage. The Upper Chassis only supports standard body DSLRs. Taller DSLRs or those with add-on battery grips will not fit between the Upper Chassis and the ultraBase.
