    Roland UM-ONE mk2 reviews

    UM-ONE mk2 - In-Line USB MIDI Interface is rated 4.6 out of 5 by 15.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Interfaced well with iPad! Our band had a very specific need for this. We use an app called BandHelper to view our set list, provide drummer a click track, play backing tracks, and send midi commands to our devices (keyboards, pedalboards, etc.) Our drummer uses a Kat percussion pad to trigger all these events for us and the best way we've found to do this is to connect the Kat pad to drummer's iPad via this Roland UM-One midi interface. It worked perfectly right out of the box and I had it up and running with BandHelper in less than 30 minutes. No complaints here!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Works very well, could be sturdier. Functionally this is a 5 star piece of equipment. It eliminated several weird issues with cheaper adapters (sustain issue with Hosa adapter for example). I fully recommend it in this sense. I had to ding a star because the midi cables are very thin and just don't seem durable. I would like to see a higher gauge wire or insulation for the price of this. Overall I certainly recommend it. I have used it for DAW work with Renoise, as well as vintage sound modules like roland Sound Canvas and MT-100. I have had no issues with any of them.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Great for ipad This device works well with the iPad. However, I can not get the driver to load on my windows 64 bit systems with a RME interface and sonar platinum. When ask to plug in the USB cable the driver stops loading. Conclusion, for one system the device is great and the other the cable is worthless.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfection Admittedly I am not a MIDI expert. I only used the Roland UM-ONE to update firmware on my Strymon Timeline delay pedal, but for that purpose it functioned perfectly. After review of various MIDI interfaces on guitar player forums and discussions with Strymon technical representatives, the UM-ONE was the choice. The UM-ONE very good product! One note: Be mindful of the MIDI connectors, they are marked (small print) to MIDI in, to MIDI out. Usually MIDI out is attached to in on the device and visa-versa.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good midi interface Good midi interface. It works well with the MIDI Solutions products. That is, it has enough power to program those devices which is why we bought it. Not all MIDI interfaces have enough power. Make sure the driver is installed correctly and make sure to restart after installing.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Works on OS X Mavericks! Unlike the previous USB/MIDI interface I had, the drivers for the UM-ONE seem to work great on OS X Mavericks. This doesn't seem to support the handy passive pass-thru mode supported by the MOTU USB/MIDI interface, but I'm hoping I don't miss it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect Replacement Interface This MIDI interface worked right out of the box with Windows 10 - no installation issues. My previous interface had more midi connections, but was incompatible with Windows 10

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works I use this to connect my iPad to my electric piano. It did not seem clear to me until I got it that I needed a powered usb to make the connection.
