Roland MOBILE AC Overview

The MOBILE AC: Acoustic Chorus Battery-Powered Amplifier from Roland is optimized for acoustic guitar and designed to travel. It features a 15-hour battery life on six AA batteries. It also features stereo chorus, reverb effects, portable audio and microphone inputs.

The MOBILE AC has 1/4" inputs for guitar and microphone with independent volume controls for each. The two 4-inch speakers can create a spacious sound with the addition of the Wide push-button effect. This can also enhance the built-in chorus and reverb. The Tone knob acts as a brightness control, adding presence as it's turned clockwise. The MOBILE AC also a third input, with dedicated volume control, for connecting a portable media player.

The MOBILE AC includes batteries and a carrying strap. An optional AC adapter is sold separately.

    Don't expect quality sound

    I guess I was surprised because so many of the small bluetooth speakers today have demonstrated that sound design has come a long way in terms of small and affordable. Not so with this. I was equally surprised because of the Roland brand, which I thought was much better than this particular product. What it has going for it are multiple inputs for a variety of sources, and the ability to work off of either battery power or an optional plug-in power supply. What is disappointing is the fuzziness of the sound, particularly voice reproduction. It will meet one of my needs, and since the sale price was good, I will keep it, but I don't recommend it.

    Sometimes a small Boost is all i need.As long as the System is not pushed to hard the mobile ac will deliver a clear and warm Sound.
