Bower Steady Pod Reviews
Junk
The Steady Pod is a seemingly nice design. It has a nice, somewhat rubberized feel, and the pistol grip mode enables a comfortable position. The mounting plate articulates, tilting forward and backward a little over 90 degrees. However, there is a major design flaw and - consequentially - it is useless to me. The hinge that attaches the mounting plate to the rest of the device is a wafer thin piece of plastic. I would not expect it survive much use, regardless of the weight of the camera. It might be okay as a tripod alone, but it certainly won't help you keep your camera steady when operating hand-held... at least, not for long. I'm sad to say that this might have been a good product if they had not cheeped out on the materials.
Cheap and simple exactly what I needed
Holdes the mini DV camcorder firmly and allows simple handling and shooting
