If I was to purchase this camera. What compatible lens 28mm (35 mm equivalent) is available? Much appreciated, something close to 18mm for 1.5 crop factor.
Asked by: Colin
Your are correct that 18mm in a APS-C sensor is a good FOV match for a 28mm on a full frame sensor. In Pentax you have a choice of the Pentax HD Pentax DA 15mm f/4 ED AL Limited Lens (Black) B&H # PE1540DALB and Pentax HD Pentax DA 21mm f/3.2 AL Limited Lens (Black) B&H # PE2132DALB. the closest in mm is the manual focus Rokinon 16mm f/2.0 ED AS UMC CS Lens for Pentax K APS-C Mount B&H # RO162P.

question

What is the maximum size memory card that this can handle? I was thinking of purchasing a couple of SanDisk 32GB Class 10 SDHC cards to use with the K5IIs that I just purchased, but I know that sometimes there can be size issues. (it's probably in the manual, but I don't have that handy)

Yes, it will work.

question

I have several screw mount lenses from the old Spotmatic Film SLR era, I know there are adapters for such and that there will be no automatic features available. However, it would take a very sizable investment to equip a new DSLR with the same capabilities this assortment of lenses give me. What (if any) adapter should I get to utilize the old screw mount lenses with the K5?
Asked by: Anonymous
You would need the following adapter to connect your older lenses to this Pentax camera: B&H # PEMAK.

question

Hi,I am based in Dubai; if I buy online from B&H, in case of any damages on the received piece, how the warranty will be granted? or in case some issues in the future under the warranty period, can I approach the local distributor? Thanks,Ranju Subramanian
Asked by: Anonymous
The warranty included with the Pentax K-5 IIs is specific to USA only, however I would advise you to check with your local Pentax distributor to see if they will honor the warranty. If not, you also have the option to purchase an additional, extended service plan with this camera that we offer through a third party company called Square Trade, which provides international coverage, as well as protection against drops, spills, and other accidents. You can find more information about Square Trade at the following link: http://bhpho.to/1fMHaTB

question

Hi there, I'm just starting out in DSLR world. This is my first camera. Can you please recommend which lenses should I get? I will be taking general photos of people as well as mountains/lakes/nature.I was thinking about, Pentax smc Pentax-DA 18-270mm f/3.5-6.3 ED SDM Lens If I get this lense, will I need any other lense?ThanksRon
Asked by: Anonymous
The Pentax smc DA 18-270mm f/3.5-6.3 ED SDM lens will be an excellent choice for a first lens. This lens will give you a broad and versatile shooting range, from wide-angle to telephoto. An excellent 2nd choice lens would be one best suited for low light shooting, especially for portrait and candid photography. The smc DA 50mm f/1.8 Lens from Pentax is a fast f/1.8 lens for cameras with a Pentax K mount. Mounted to a camera with an APS-C sensor, this lens gives an angle of view equivalent to a 76.5mm telephoto lens--ideal for portraits. The wide f/1.8 aperture makes this an essential lens for working in low light, and it also delivers beautiful bokeh (the out-of-focus portion of a photograph). This lightweight (4.3 oz) lens is very compact--just 1.5 (3.8 cm) long. The addition of Pentax Super Protect (SP) coating to the lens helps prevent dust, water, grease and other substances from attaching themselves to a lens and degrading image quality. http://bhpho.to/Lmp0H1

question

Do you offer international warranty for this product?Peter
Asked by: Anonymous
The Pentax K-5 IIs Digital SLR Camera comes with a 1-Year Limited USA warranty from Pentax/RICOH IMAGING covering manufacturer defects and workmanship. The camera does not come with an international warranty. However, RICOH IMAGING does state on their website that you can contact them after the purchase of the camera and request an international warranty card for the camera. They would then send you an International Warranty Card to cover your product while you are abroad, as well as a list of authorized service centers around the world. http://bit.ly/1oVwCGx
