The Marani MP-FE2 Feedback Eliminator is a digital device that utilizes dynamic band scanning and the placement of automatic high precision notch filters to cancel audio feedback. The unit analyzes the frequencies in the signal, determines which frequencies are causing feedback, and uses 12 notch filters per channel to eliminate the feedback.
For controls, two rotary encoders adjust the input and output signal of the device. A push button allows you to select whether the attenuation filters are fixed or automatic. A separate hold filters button allows you to retain the filters throughout playback or allow them to reset. A rotary encoder knob allows you to adjust the feedback attenuation to 15 preset reaction sensitivities from minimal feedback sensitivity at level 15 to maximum sensitivity at level 1. The encoder knob also allows you to bypass the feedback elimination circuit. No initial setup is required to operate the device.
The settings of the notch filters are automatically stored so that they can be recalled after turning the unit off and back on. The device can switch between dual channel or mono mode with the push of a button, and also includes a process on/off button for bypassing the feedback attenuation circuit. For I/O, the device uses line level 1/4" TRS connectors for both the left and right channels of the input and output.
