Marani MP-FX1 Effects Processor
Key Features
  • 16 Selectable Effects
  • Input/Output Level Knob
  • Dry/Wet Knob
  • Variation Knob
The Marani MP-FX1 Effects Processor is a digital effects processor housed in a metal chassis that is one third the width and half the depth of a normal rack unit. The device features a rotary encoder selector knob allowing you to choose from 16 classic effects converted at 24 bit 48 kHz resolution. A set of rotary control knobs allow you to adjust the input signal, output signal, ratio of dry unaffected signal to wet effected signal, and the amount of variation in the effect. The unit also includes a tap delay button for timing the delay and a bypass/fx button for turning the effects on and off. The device has LED indicators for power, clip, mute, tap delay, and the bypass/fx button.

Marani MP-FX1 Overview

For inputs and outputs, the device uses two unbalanced 1/4" TRS inputs and two unbalanced 1/4" TRS outputs. One of the inputs can be substituted for a footswitch to control effects and operate the tap delay.

Effects
Classic Reverb
The reverb effect simulates the way music sounds in a natural space
Hall Reverb
The hall reverb effect simulates the way the music would sound in a large concert hall with significant pre-delay and long reverb tails
Room Reverb
The room reverb simulates the way the music would sound in a medium-sized room
Plate Reverb
The plate reverb effect simulates the way the music would sound when bounced off an electromechanical plate of sheet metal
Vocal Reverb
The vocal reverb effect simulates the way the music would sound when played in a large hall, but with some added echo to draw out the sound of the human voice
Gated Reverb
The gated reverb effect combines a basic reverb with a gate function, making it suitable for kick and snare drums
Vocal Echo Delay
The vocal echo delay outputs different echoes on each of the two channels, to simulate the sound of echoes spreading out in a room while sustaining the sound of the voice
Delay
The delay effect produces echoes of the original signal. You can adjust the delay time by pressing the TAP/FX1 button
Chorus
The chorus effect adds thickness and weight to the signal
Flanger
The flanger setting adds a slightly delayed copy of the signal to the original causing a comb filter to harmonically sweep through the frequency spectrum
Phaser
The phaser setting adds a copy of the original signal that is shifted out of phase with the original signal
Tremolo
The tremolo setting cyclically shifts the amplitude of the input signal, causing the volume to increase and decrease on a regular interval
Rotary
The rotary setting emulates the Doppler effect to shift the frequencies as though the signal were being played through a rotating speaker
Chorus + Reverb
The Chorus + Reverb setting combines the effects of the chorus and room reverb
Delay + Reverb
The Delay + Reverb setting combines the effects of the delay and hall reverb
Chorus + Delay
The Chorus + Delay setting combines the effect of the chorus and delay
Pitch Shift
The pitch shift effect adds another signal above or below the original pitch
