The Sony NEX-VG900 Full-Frame Interchangeable Lens Camcorder is the first Handycam camcorder with a 35mm sensor to fully exploit the artistic potential of interchangeable lenses. Besides the new 35mm sensor, the NEX-VG900 also offers you even more creative control with numerous options to help you create the image the way you envision it. Beautiful, film-like results can be achieved by shooting video in 24p progressive mode with CinemaTone Gamma and CinemaTone Color presets to precisely control cinematic grading effects. Additionally, AVCHD version 2.0 standard 60p recording maximizes the range of creative options for movie-makers to explore. Even greater flexibility is provided by a choice of new Picture Effect modes, enabling easy creation of artistic in-camera treatments.

The NEX-VG900 also provides you even more flexibility and creative options by including a LA-EA3 adapter to utilize A-Mount lenses. When it comes to lenses having more options and flexibility is always advantageous. With the LA-EA3 you can use A-mount lenses and take full advantage of wide-angle shooting at the lens's designed focal length with no cropping.

E-Mount and A-Mount Lens Compatibility
The NEX-VG900 also provides you even more flexibility and creative options by including a LA-EA3 adapter to utilize A-Mount lenses, in addition to the camera's standard E-Mount. Tru-Finder OLED Electronic Viewfinder
Frame your subject more accurately with the Tru-Finder OLED electronic viewfinder that conveniently turns on as you position your eye against it. It begins with 2359K dots for amazing resolution and high contrast ratio for incredible depth. OLED also reduces motion blur to a bare minimum. You can also see the results of camera adjustments in real time with superb color and detail.
Quad Capsule Microphone & 5.1 Sound
The integrated Quad Capsule Spatial Array 5.1 ch surround microphone can record with forward and rearward directivity as well as 5.1-channel surround sound with impressively low noise and high clarity. A new Multi Interface Shoe allows attachment of an optional XLR adapter kit for even more sound-capture versatility.
Full Manual Control
With full manual control of iris, gain, and shutter you will be able to adapt to almost any lighting condition to get the best shot. Also, the iris, shutter speed, and gain adjustments can easily be made via direct access keys. And the camcorder's pro-style display peaking function is complemented by a one-touch focus magnification button on top of the grip.
Uncompressed HDMI Output
Easily record Full 1080 HD uncompressed clean-screen video files to external recording devices via an HDMI connection in 24p, 60p and 60i frame-rates.

question

Does the 3.5mm mic input provide phantom power to an external microphone?

While the 3.5mm mic input of the NEX-VG900 provides 3.5VDC of Electret power, it cannot provide the 48DCV needed by phantom power microphones. If you were to connect a phantom power mic via a XLR to 3.5mm adapter to the camera, nothing will happen because there is not enough voltage.

I have a nex-vg900 I love it best camera I ever owned I recently purchased a FE-PZ 28-135mm Lenz and I'm worriedabout the lenz breaking off is there some kind of like lens to camera mount I can buy cuz I like to sling it

I would suggest the Cavision RS-15IIM(250) Rod Support System for Mini DV Camcorders B&H # CARS15IIM. That may be enough. However, I would also suggest this lens support that should screw into the tripod support of the lens. Lanparte Double 15mm Rod Clamp with 1/4 -20 Screw B&H # LADRC02. These two pieces should have enough adjustability in order to work. Unfortunately, we are not able to test these all together.

The Sony NEX-VG900 has a zoom rocker on the body. What zoom lenses will zoom by this control? The PZ series? Other zoom lenses?

I found that when you put your camera in cinema mode the toggle above the on-off switch makes the zoom go in and out for the lens

The description says there is an audio input but doesn't specify what type. I know it doesn't have XLR inputs so am I correct to assume it has 1/8 inputs? And how many channels of audio can it record?

Your assumption is correct, the included audio connection is 1/8 . It can record 2 channel audio as well. Sony also makes the XLR-K1M Adapter and Microphone Kit. This will connect to the NEX-VG900's Multi-Interface Shoe and give you 2 XLR inputs for more professional audio options.

Dose Sony 35mm f/1.4G Wide Angle Prime Lens work with NEX-VG900 in auto focus Like E-mount lenses or it has focus noise like A-mount lenses with A-mount adapter?

The Sony 35mm f/1.4G Wide Angle Prime Lens has a A mount and therefore there must be an A mount to E mount adapter in place like the included A-Mount Adapter (LA-EA3). Therefore if you have had noise with this adapter before, it would be there again most likely. I suspect however that in video mode any noise is somewhat mitigated.

Yes, your Nikon F mount Zeiss lenses will be full frame on the Nex VG900, but no Auto Focus, you use Manual Focus only. Please check with BH video department the special adapter.
