question

On this power pack, I am looking to purchase for my wife. Am I reading correctly that it only takes one EN-EL15 battery for its operation. Also do you leave the original battery in the camera or just operate off the battery pack. Is it any trouble to connect to the camera. Im sorry im not a camera person but she is and I just want her to be pleased with it. Thanks.

When using this grip, it will always require that the original battery be left in the camera, and the grip can then be used with just that one battery, or you have the option of adding a 2nd battery pack to the grip. The grip is not difficult to attach to the camera. It supplied with simple instructions.

Can this be used with just 2 or 4 AA batteries (to save weight)?
Asked by: Andrew
If using AA batteries, you must use 6 of them in order to have any functionality from the grip. To save weight, using the EN-EL15/15A with this grip is better.

question

The description says -Holds 2x EN-EL15 or 6 AA Batteries. Until I read this, I was under the impression that it, like the other el-cheapo brand that I gave away, holds one in the grip and one in the camera. On my D90, the Nikon-brand grip has a door on the back that opens and allows 1 or 2 batteries to be used, or a special tray for AA batteries, but it is designed to not allow a battery to be inserted into the body. Please clarify: Can this grip actually hold 2 standard Li-Ion batteries inside the grip, or just one?
Asked by: Bob
The MD14 uses one battery EN-EL15 or double AA batteries. if you use the EN_EL 15, then you will use one battery then go to the battery in the camera body. . You will have two batteries to use beforvoing empty. I get about twelve hours of continuous shooting and sometimes even more. If you use video, you will need the extra battery..
