The G700 Waterproof Digital Camera from Ricoh has a 1/2.3" CCD sensor, used to capture 12.1MP resolution images and 1280 x 720 HD videos. The 5.0-25mm zoom lens provides the 35mm equivalent of a 28-140mm focal length and 5x optical zoom, while it also accepts 37mm filters for added protection and creative opportunities. It is capable of ISO sensitivities of 64 to 3200, and additionally, a built-in flash ensures that even shots in the dark or low light will come out well.
For composition, review, and menu navigation, the G700 has a 3.0" LCD on the rear of the camera body - giving you a generous amount of space. The camera features an SD/SDHC and SD WORM card memory slot, providing the option of using SD WORM's "write once, read many" capabilities that make it great for locking information onto a card and unable to be edited or rewritten afterward. There is a nominal 103MB internal memory which can be used for a few shots, giving you a small margin of wiggle-room without a card or when yours is full.
This camera was designed with harsh environments in mind, from work sites to hospitals. Having gone through numerous tests, the G700 is guaranteed waterproof to a depth of 16' (5.0 m) for a duration of 2 hours, shockproof up to a drop of 6.0' (1.8 m) and coldproof down to 14°F (-10°C), among other extremes. It can even be operated with gloves on thanks to the simple and well-designed layout of buttons. Additional tough-minded features include the use of industrial strength disinfectants on the device, such as sodium hypochlorite and ethanol, or the option of washing it in water whenever it gets dirty.
Additional features of the camera include bar code reading for saving product information or other codes for future reference. The camera also comes equipped with Bluetooth Ver. 2.1 +EDR and wireless LAN (802.11b/g) compatibilities, allowing you to send your images to a smartphone or other digital device, such as a computer, wirelessly.
