Gives better balancing the the original ID500 support. Easier to adjust since the weight it is on the center rather than on the bottom/top.

Do the given product dimensions of 15 x 12 x 2 include the hardware? (Handles and Light Stand Adapter)

I just measured it as 19 w x 8 h including the handles. Not sure where the manufacturer's measurements come from.
