Sennheiser 2000C1-205NI-G Overview

The 2000 Series Wireless Microphone System from Sennheiser is a professional wireless microphone package designed to deliver high-quality, reliable wireless performance for concerts, lectures, meetings, and a wide variety of other pro audio applications. This system includes the EM 2000 wireless receiver, the nickel SKM 2000-XP handheld microphone transmitter with a nickel Neumann KK 205 condenser capsule, and the SK 2000-XP bodypack transmitter.

The 2000 Series wireless system features 20 intermodulation-free frequency banks with up to 64 preset channels per bank. In addition, there are 6 user banks that allow you to tune and store up to 64 channels. Frequency channel settings are tuned in 25 kHz steps, and there are up to 3,000 possible frequencies in up to 75 MHz of bandwidth in a given band (number of presets, number of possible frequencies and bandwidth vary per frequency band).

To help you get set up as quickly as possible, there is an auto-scan feature that finds available frequencies for you, plus you can configure the transmitter via infrared directly from the receiver. To prevent audible RF interference due to a weak signal from the transmitter, the system utilizes a pilot tone-driven squelch feature that kicks in once the signal strength dips below a certain threshold.

The included SKM 2000-XP handheld microphone transmitter runs on two regular AA batteries, or the optional BA 2015 rechargeable battery pack. For convenience, it has external charging contacts that allow for recharging without taking the battery pack out of the transmitter when used with the optional L2015G2 charging station. In this particular 2000 Series system, the handheld transmitter comes with the Neumann KK 205 super cardioid condenser capsule, which has been developed specifically for the SKM 2000 system. In designing the KK 205, particular attention was given to ensuring that the capsule maintains low levels of self noise and handling noise. The capsule also features integrated foam for pop protection and for keeping moisture from contaminating the element.

The SK 2000-XP is a lightweight bodypack transmitter, that when paired with a headset or lavalier microphone that terminates with the Sennheiser 3-pin connector, provides a hands-free wireless option. The SK 2000-XP can also be paired with a compatible instrument cable for wireless electric guitar and bass, or with an instrument mic for wireless miking of acoustic guitar, upright bass and more. Like the SKM 2000-XP handheld transmitter, the SK 2000-XP can operate either on two AA batteries, or on the optional BA 2015 rechargeable battery pack. It also has external contacts for charging on the L2015G2 charging station without removing the battery pack.

The EM 2000 wireless receiver is enclosed in a 19" rackmountable case that is made from all-metal. It features one balanced 1/4" output, one balanced XLR output, and one 1/4" headphone output. For convenience and efficient use of space, the power supply is integrated within the unit. Employing true diversity technology for consistent reception, the receiver uses 2 rod antennas. Additionally, the EM 2000 has an integrated antenna splitter that allows up to 8 receiver units to share one set of antennas. This feature can come in handy in multi-channel system configurations in which you may wish to rackmount several receivers on top of one another.

In addition, Sennheiser Control Cockpit Software (download) offers easy handling, control, and maintenance for the Digital Wireless System. It provides a global overview of all network-enabled devices, shows all status information, and makes setting adjustments very easy.

HDX noise reduction system keeps signal-to-noise ratio less than 120 dB(A)
Auto-lock feature to prevent setting changes from accidentally pressing buttons on handheld and bodypack transmitters
Enhanced audio frequency response in the bass range for optimum transmission from bass guitars on the bodypack transmitter
Audio and RF mute features for muting the transmitters
Soundcheck feature checks the reception area for strength gaps that cannot be compensated for by the diversity system
Input sensitivity above 60 dB can be set in 3 dB steps on bodypack transmitter
4 selectable equalizer presets on receiver
Two-color backlit graphic display on receiver with warning messages in red
Backlit displays on both transmitters
Antenna cables can be connected to the antenna input sockets which output direct voltage to supply an active antenna
Ethernet output for connecting to a PC running Sennheiser Wireless Systems Manager software for monitoring, control and advanced scanning features
