ClearSonic IsoPac T Overview

The IsoPac T Tabletop Vocal Booth (Dark Gray) from ClearSonic consists of a 3-section clear shield in front, with SORBER baffles on the inside and as a lid. Cable cut-outs between each panel allow easy microphone placement. The entire enclosure fits on a table and folds for easy transport. The center section of acrylic is 24.0 x 36.0" (width x height). The side panels are 18.0 x 34.0" (width x height).

The S3 SORBER baffle used as a lid rests on the side sections, and is held in place by the taller front section. The side panels are treated with an S1 SORBER baffle, while the center has an S2. This absorption arrangement will block reflections at microphone level while still leaving a large sight line at the top of each panel

I am using this for simultaneous translation. It works beautifully. It deadens the sound of the translator.

Will this block outside noise coming in from a window facing a noisy street?

It depends on how noisy the street is, but if you're working late at night and there is not too much traffic, it will do a very good job. If you've got constant honking and truck sounds coming in, probably not entirely. I am needing a translation booth. Would this be as effective in preventing sound from leaking out?

This TableTop Vocal Booth is made more to cut outside noise from leaking in by 50%, primarily for studio recording applications. I surmise that it could work for a translation scenario if there is not too much background noise.

The ClearSonic IsoPac T Tabletop Vocal Booth (Dark Gray) comes with 2x ClearSonic S1 Dark Gray SORBER Baffles, 1x ClearSonic S2224 Sorber Sound Absorption Baffle (2-Pack, Dark Gray) and 1x ClearSonic Dark Gray SORBER S3 Baffle (33 x 22").

We hang our microphone from a boom attached to a tall stand. Is that set-up feasible with this booth? Could the boom fit through the small gap in the corner, between the lid and the clear panels? Or maybe the boom could angle in over my shoulder, from behind?

Hello, I believe the option of having the boom angled in (over) your shoulder from behind would possibly be your best bet. I believe the gaps in the corners are too small to fit a normal size boom mic frame/holder. Hope this helps.
