Perfect match and compatibility with my Minolta 3200i and 3500Xi and Sunpak 4000AF. Bought these flashes for my problematic Sony A3000 with the MI hotshoe which works only with Sony OEM flashes. Even Godox MI hotshoe flashes and Godox x1T-s failed to recognize and work with this camera. At least now my Minolta and Sunpak flashes can continue being useful on any camera with a single contact hot shoe.

Main use for me is to convert Sony flash to mount on tripod.

Can I mount this on my Alpha 65 and then put a standard hot shoe mount on the other end? I thought I would need a male end (not female as listed) to put onto the Alpha 65 body and then a female end for standard hot shoe items (flash, remote release) to be mounted on top of the A65 body.

This Dot Line Sony Flash To Standard Hot Shoe Adapter allows the use of old-style Sony speedlights on standard hot-shoe mounts. It sounds like you need the opposite ends of this adapter, in reverse. If so, you would need something like the Vello Hot Shoe Adapter - Converts Sony/Minolta Hot Shoe to Standard Hot Shoe + PC Socket (B&H # VEHSACSC) instead.

Will this item fit the multi- interface Shoe slot of Sony HDR CX900? and furthermore, will a Vello CB-4800 slide through it? thanks!

The Dot Line Sony Flash to Standard Hot Shoe adapter will fit in the multi-interface shoe of a Sony HDR CX-900. However, a Vello CB-4800 will not fit on the top shoe mount, as the top shoe is designed for the Sony/Minolta proprietary shoe. The Vello CB-4800 needs a standard hot shoe mount.

While the Sony Multi-Interface Shoe Adapter, B&H # SOADPMAA, would be the better option and the original adapter from Sony for your usage needs with connecting an older Sony/Minolta flash with the Auto-Lock hot shoe design onto your camera, yes, the Dot Line Sony Flash To Standard Hot Shoe Adapter, B&H # DODL0425, would also work on the Sony Alpha a7RIII Mirrorless Digital Camera for your usage needs. Do note that if you require TTL communication between camera and flash, the Sony adapter listed above would be recommended. If you will set the flash output manually, then the Dot Line adapter would work for your usage needs.
