E-Image EH50 Tripod System Reviews

Used it a few times...

Disappointing. I loved this thing at first. That lasted up until my first few shoots. The head plate can slip out. I once clicked it out without hitting the release button. My 1dx mkiii almost fell the ground. Luckily my hands were around it. One of legs got my finger pretty good when it wasn't clipped. It slid down and got me. It's hard to tell with the twist locks if it's opened. The plate is also much smaller than most heads, so one, you can't use any manfrotto sized plates and when trying to attach the plate to my 70-200 lens, it wouldn't fit on the head. I loved this at first and decided to dump it on craigslist and go all in on a Sachtler 75 FSB8 and Sachtler Speedlock Ace XL system. Hopefully those two well be good enough to cover my lifelong quest to find the perfect tripod.

Enjoying the use and versatility of this tripod.  I also really like the turn knob adjustments for the legs. Fluid head works great for panning and tilting.  I would have liked the quick release plate to be a bit bigger (to make it easier to snap into place) but Im glad it doesnt interfere with changing the battery like the Manfrotto 500 does.  Other than that I am happy with the purchase.  Using this tripod for a Canon XF-400 Camcorder.

Will my Manfrotto 502AH Pro Video Head with Flat Base work with these sticks?
Asked by: Yvonne
We're afraid not. You will not be able to use the 502AH head on these legs.

question

Is the head removable? If so what size is the screw, trying to see if its possible to attach my slider.
Asked by: Jared
It is sort-of removable? The threaded portion is not meant to be removed, but I suppose with some modification it could be. That being, said the base would not be stable (it is a ball mount NOT a flat mount) and if the threaded part is removed it would not easily convert from tripod to slider mount. You would need something like out GH03F to mount correctly.

question

Is it possible to buy replacement heads or a head that is compatible with the mount of the tripod legs? My head is super stiff when panning left to right.
Asked by: Shane S.
The head is removable so yes, you could replace it with another of your choice.
