E-Image EH60 Tripod System Overview

The E-Image EK60AAM Fluid Drag Video Head and Tripod is a video head and dual stage tripod leg system designed for video cameras and rigs weighing up to 17.6 pounds. The system consists of the EH60 fluid drag head, the AT7402A aluminum tripod legs with fixed mid-level spreader, one HD7060 adjustable pan handle, and a soft bag for carrying the system. The head has fixed pan and tilt fluid drag for smooth camera moves, and a spring-loaded counterbalance system adjustable in three steps

The included sliding balance plate attaches to your camera with either of the included 1/4"-20 or 3/8"-16 camera tie-down screws. It then slides into the head's top plate, quickly and securely attaching your camera to the tripod. You can adjust the balance of the camera on the tripod head by sliding the baseplate forward or backward. The sliding balance plate system features a safety release to help prevent the sliding baseplate from accidentally sliding out of the tripod head.

Smoother than some named brand tripod

I bought this years ago and never used it because it is heavy and I thought my bogen tripod with nitrotech head is just as good. But I found that video shot with the bogen has a lot of jitters when I pan. Out of desperation, I hauled out this e-image tripod and tried it and it pans a lot smoother! I'll be using this a lot more from now on. I wish the counterbalance has finer settings. Now, it's either none or too much so I have to hold on to the handle to prevent the camcorder from tilting. It is possible I don't know how to adjust the nitrotech head properly so I'm not writing that off just yet. More experiments are needed.

Great value for what you pay on this tripod. The legs are heavy duty and comes with a decent carrying bag. The pan bar on this head is also telescopic which is nice. The only downside that I could think of is that most surfaces on this tripod are powder-coated paint which is harder to get a decal (for contact info) to stick on to--but super super minor detail.

My need: A solid tripod to support a camera that does not need to be moved often. This tripod does just that. It is cheap but solid and is fine for what I need it to do. Would I use it commercially? NO. Would I purchase it again? Yes. I also purchased the dolly that goes with it. The dolly adds weight and makes it easier to move. The carry bag for the tripod is fine but some of the stitching could be better. The storage pocket inside the carry case is made from really light weight material. However, over-all, this is a really good value for the sale price I paid and I expect it to last for many years. I highly recommend it if your needs are similar to mine.

With over 50 years of professional studio and location camera work in Southern California hopefully should back up my opinion of related products. I know what I am looking for in a tripod and am positively impressed with this E-Image Tripod in many ways. I find the position locks for the legs grip firmly with ease. The variable spring loaded head tension adjustments for tilt and for pan require a little move of the pan or tilt when changing settings; but work smooth as silk. The head comes with a secure and releasable camera mounting plate. It is also is very well built; but it does not match the sled width of my other tripods; but that is OK. This is easily resolved by mounting any one of my stock quick-release bases onto this plate. I think this tripod is a treasure because it very affordable, useful in many ways, and looks impressive with my rigs. Now there are times to use heavier tripods than this and there are different styles; but this one has the features and design that proves to me it was engineered by someone who knows tripods very well. One of the great features is the ease of leveling a camera with this quick release and lock floating head. That feature alone is a valuable time saver for a job set-up. A very nice storage case came with this tripod. It has a customized zipper designed to open the side like a flap; a molded head-protecting insert; a canvas carry handle; and a removable shoulder strap. There are many styles of tripods and the best are often over $1000.00. I find this E-Image Tripod to be a great value at a surprisingly low cost. It has earned a credibility test with me to be a part of my multi-camera cinematic productions equipment.

I wasn't expecting this level of quality at this price point. The head and legs are built really well. Smooth action, and easy to lock in. Everything just works! No fuss. Then there is the bag and the care with which this unit is packed & shipped. It's like the manufacturer wants you to receive their quality product in an undamaged state. Rather than taking a chance that it makes it. Buy this head/tripod unit!

Will be honest this is the first real fluid head type tripod I have purchased or used. First I was surprised by the heft of this thing. Great for stability for not great for lugging it around. The fluid head really seems to work well and the whole thing is very stable. My only real complaint so far is grease on one side of the head, looks like it leaked out from around the tilt lock knob. I am going to use it for the next week or two and if it keeps leaking it will be exchanged.

This is s great setup - especially when in the Deal Zone. I have been using this tripod almost everyday for almost 3 weeks - no issues what so ever - Very sturdy - Very reliable - I have no issues mounting my C70 and a heavy Cine Lens - everything is held rock solid. Highly Recommend!

Hi, can I take the tripod head off and mount a varizoom solo jib in it? Would it hold?

This tripod has a load capacity of 17.6 pounds, while a Varizoom Solo Jib that is Carbon Fiber will weigh right around 7 pounds. If you keep the weight of the camera you are putting on it low this tripod will be able to handle the Varizoom Jib. The jib will also connect right to the tripod head, you would not need to remove it.

Since I have set up tripods thousands of times, I concur a video tripod without a bubble level is quite useless or at the very least, very difficult to use.Unfortunately, we do not stock this replacement part. You can take the handle off and put on a different one but the joint is rather small compared to some bigger tripods. So its a small pan handle which can be removed and switched but it's nice on it's own but can be switched out if you find another of similar size

Yes. The mounting plate screws into the borrow of the camera and slides on the head. This video head can angle the weight easily. It’s an decent low cost set up!

The short answer is yes.You will need an adapter. I suggest either one of the attached adapters seen below.The Manfrotto has a low profile and is very solid. However, there is no leveling possible, for it holds the head in just one position. The ikan adapter is more expensive, rests the head and camera about 2 higher. However you can level with it.
