I keep this as a spare and wouldn't need it if it wasn't so fragile to start with. I do a lot of travelling so my equipment gets a good workout and as careful as I try to be with my gear, some abuse over time. This is one of the few items of 'spare gear' that I have on hand just in case because of my experience with the original provided with my fluid head (it bent and stretched out a little). The fluid head that it attaches to is great and built well and all that, just wish the handle was as sturdy.
