The 16x16 version of the Apogee Electronics Symphony consists of the Symphony I/O Chassis outfitted with the A16x16 - Analog In/Out Digital Module.

The chassis provides two module slots. The front panel of chassis presents the visual feedback needed to monitor levels, sample rate and clock status, along with the controls required to adjust gain and output levels.

The converter has multiple connectivity options that include direct connection to a Symphony 64 PCIe card, a USB equipped Intel Mac, or to Avid's Pro Tools HD and HD-X systems. With the addition of the optional Symphony 64/Thunderbridge interface, the system acquires direct connectivity to any Thunderbolt equipped Mac computer. Additionally, the unit can function in a standalone operation.

The analog and AES I/O on the A8x8 module, and the sends and returns on the microphone preamp module require optional breakout cables, which are available in various configurations to suit individual requirements.

Apogee Electronics Symphony I/O Chassis

The Symphony I/O Chassis from Apogee provides two I/O Module slots for a variety of digital audio conversion options that form the interface side of the Symphony I/O. Elegant and easy to use, the front panel of Symphony I/O Chassis presents the visual feedback needed to monitor levels, sample rate and clock status, along with the controls required to adjust gain, output levels ,and select the Audio Interface Mode (AIM).

The rear panel provides access to the two I/O Module slots that are capable of a combined thirty-two channels of input and output. PCI, USB and Ethernet connectivity ensures complete compatibility with popular workstations, while the panel also includes Wordclock I/O connectors and termination, LoopSynch I/O connectors, and a quiet digitally-controlled fan to keep everything running cool.

The Audio Interface Mode (AIM) allows the system to be optimized for the most popular audio workstation environments, including Symphony PCI, Pro Tools HD PCI, USB audio, or to function as a standalone converter. With a two-step adjustment using a single front panel encoder knob, the interface can be easily switched back and forth between the preferred modes.

The optional five I/O Modules allow the user to choose from standard configurations, or customize the following - channel count, analog to digital input, digital to analog output, microphone preamps (requires an analog card) and digital I/O.

Apogee Electronics A16x16 - Analog Input/Output Digital Audio Module for Symphony I/O

The A16x16 from Apogee is a sixteen channel analog input and sixteen channel analog output module for the Symphony I/O. The module occupies one of the two slots available on the chassis. Additionally, two channel coaxial S/PDIF input and output is also provided.

Refined and updated circuitry with fewer, more advanced components allows for a shorter audio path, resulting in more recording clarity and transparency and a more efficient power distribution. The module features enhanced C777 clocking performance and lower converter latency.

The analog inputs and outputs require optional breakout cables, available in various configurations to suit individual requirements.

Analog-to-digital and digital-to-analog module for the Symphony I/O system
Sixteen channels of balanced analog input and sixteen channels of balanced analog output
Two channels of coaxial S/PDIF input and output
Ultra low latency conversion
Entire audio path is DC coupled, resulting in ultra flat frequency response and extremely low phase error
