Dock For Nexus 7 1st Generation (Black) is rated 4.4 out of 5 by 55.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from The best dock for the Nexus 7 I have been waiting for Asus to release this dock since I bought my Nexus 7 when it was first released. It was worth the wait! It beats the wannabe docks hands down. Its build quality can not be seen in the picks, but rest assured it is a well built sold strong dock for your Nexus 7 tablet.I have it wired to a speaker so I can use the app for the speaker for sound controls from my phone.B&H had the best shipping fees and it came fast. The competitors wanted way to much for shipping and they were right here in my home state. I am very happy with my purchase and not only recommend this dock for your Nexus 7, but I can highly recommend getting it here from B&H!

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Would be great... if it charged my nexus Love the concept of this, but the charging is unreliable at best. I keep an eye to make sure the icon displays it is charging, and even then, over night, with it still showing as charging in the morning, my battery is at 14% sometimes (sometimes it is fully charged). It's very finicky. Someone (a normal person, not an elephant or a 'heavy walker') walking in the room can be enough to get break the connection for charging. So, as unreliable as it is, I have switched to propping my nexus in the docking station, but charging with the USB cable. I lose easy the drop in and take out appeal, but my nexus actually charges reliably.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome. Buy it NOW! I pre-ordered this as soon as I saw it. I've had other docks, but this one is the very best ever. No jamming a USB connector, no breaking a USB connector if it gets knocked off the nightstand. The little recessed contacts on the N7 make this work great, and the clock software works exactly as you'd want it to work. And all of the buttons and jacks on the tablet are fully available, even when it is docked. It does not come with a charger, but the Nexus 7 did. I have not used the audio jack, but I don't even care if it works. The base is plenty good enough without it. And my bet is that the Audio works as well as the rest of the thing. Good job ASUS and Google! Thanks B&H!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Often fails to charge The pogo pins don't line up well, so when you insert the Nexus 7 into the dock, it often fails to charge. And even if it does start charging, just pressing the power button is enough to make it lose the connection. It also seems to charge much more slowly when power is connected through the dock compared to with a direct connection.Pogo pins are supposed to make it more convenient than using the USB connector, but in the end they're much more frustrating. I'm really disappointed. For $$, I was expecting something decent, and this plainly isn't. In the end, all this dock is useful for is as a stand, so you can watch a video or whatever without holding the device.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great , solid, well made dock Does what it says it will do, it docks :) Aditiounally it provides charging thru the pogo pins, which is very valuable as unprotected micro usb ports often fail within a year. It offers a audio out port *IF YOU CHOOSE TO USE IT* The first time you use the dock it offers you a choice to use the dock for audio out or not. Apparently the 1st reviewer chose to use the dock, and now is complaining that it is doing what he told it to... Not much you can do about that! It's a great dock, keeps the micro usb from failing, and is worth it's price.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Sweet Nexus 7 Power/Audio Pogo-plug Dock This is just what I have been wanting for my desk. I can leave the Nexus 7 on all day for when I need to use it. The 3.5 mm stereo mini plug is very nice for my powered speakers. It looks very good. I have a Blue Tooth Keyboard under it to pull it forward or back out of the way; my iPad hardly misses it at all. A little Velcro and I don't have to worry about it falling back when I touch the screen to hard. Make sure you have the sound settings set for using the dock. All in all I am happy with the purchase.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Tucks under monitor; horizontal only Takes very little space on the desk; the docked tablet fits easily under the bezel of a 24 monitor, allowing easy access to music, calendar without disrupting main work. Bought a second dock for the nightstand to use tablet as an alarm clock. Can sort of hold the tablet vertically, but without power/audio connection and feels unstable. Docking will place tablet into Daydream mode which offers a few specialized screen-saver-like applications. Front-mounted buttons for power/volume would be nice as it's a bit hard to find the ones on top when docked. Cannot use with any sort of case. (The options/features listed below make it look like powerReview thinks this is the tablet itself; this review is for the dock specifically.)

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Sturdy Dock Has Annoying Feature This dock is well-constructed but overpriced at $$ for such a simple device. The annoying feature is continuous interruption of user activities by spurious Use Dock for Audio messages with an OK button only followed by Complete action using messages with Daydream and News360 icons with Always and Just Once buttons (specific to my apps), followed by another Use Dock for Audio message.Sound settings has a DOCK section, but the Audio item is disabled. Only the Dock insert sound property offers a choice.Removing the News360 app appears to solve the problem, at least temporarily.
