The 37mm Close-Up Lens Kit from Kinotehnik is an optional diopter lens kit, designed for those who cannot shoot with a viewfinder loupe while wearing their glasses. It enables you to choose the desired power of the diopter setting by adding the appropriate glass lens to the viewfinder. The metal thread is found under the viewfinder's eye cup, and is compatible with the LCDVF 3C model only. The kit contains +1, +2 and +4 corrective lenses, and any two of them can be combined together, creating custom diopter settings when necessary.

The 34mm Diopter Kit is only compatible with the thread unique to the LCDVF 3C loupe, designed for the Canon EOS 5D Mark III and EOS-1D X DSLR cameras.
Provides Additional & Customized Correction
The three +1, +2 and +4 lenses included in the kit provide additional diopter correction, and you can combine them for an even greater range of values.

    Rated 5 out of 5 by from Recommended Please note I received no instructions on how to install the diopter lenses, so I turned to YouTube to figure out how they are installed. When installing the diopter lense please note that the lense screws in to the metal eyepiece trim ring in the eyepiece rubber cup. I viewed a YouTube video which showed the lense simply being placed between the rubber cup of the eye piece and the exiting installed magnification lense (not screwed in), but when I pulled the rubber eyepiece off to install the diopter lense as shown in the video, I discovered the metal trim around the diopter lense was threaded as was the eyepiece trim ring. Hence, just try to screw the diopter lense in place inside the rubber eyepiece rather than pulling the rubber eyepiece off to install as shown in the YouTube video. After installation of the lense and the frame on the camera it worked well.

Having mentioned this if you wear glasses and want to be able to use the Kinotehnik Lcdvf3c 3.2 Lcd Viewfinder For Canon Dslr Cameras or other items in the product line which fit this accessory then it's not an optional, but rather a required accessory.
